This was posted by Will Buxton on Twitter from Reddit - thought it would be worth posting here: http://legacy.librar...id/sdm14j00/pdf

Excellent - I wonder who the team signatory is.

My guess would be Fred Bushell. He was no longer Chairman of Group Lotus after David Wickens arrived, but he stayed to look after Team's affairs until some time late in 1989, after he'd had a knock on the door from the Boys in Blue.

Interesting reading! Wasn't Al Unser Jr.'s contract with Marlboro from his time with Penske in the early 1990's also part of the same archive?
I think was posted sometime back, but I'm not finding it with the search function.

It is indeed interesting reading. The most interesting part for me was that despite Ayrton driving with Honda power and the eventual close relationship he would build with Honda, he had an endorsement contract in Brazil with Ford. Could you imagine say Sergio Perez advertising Renault in Mexico these days? I guess before the days of the internet, social media etc Senna could promote Ford in Brazil without the rest of the world taking notice.

Credit where credit is due, since 'journalist' Will Buxton missed it, the guy who brought it to prominence is Fabio Seixas http://fabioseixas.b...lha.uol.com.br/

There are far more interesting, imo, contracts in that index. You could write a doctoral thesis about modern Indycar on the back of the various tobacco sponsorship contracts made public.

Senna's contract denied him the chance to muck about on a motorbike or hang glider (cf Depailler). Why not a ban on equestrian activity or parachuting or skateboards?

Perhaps Senna had an interest in the former but not the latter?

Because there wasn´t Honda cars in Brazil in the 80´s, only motorcycles.. The firts Honda car in Brazil was the 1992 Civic Lsi and was an importation from USA.
