I will start this new topic, because I think its the right time. You can delete it,if its not right.
First of all,who do you think will win this year Budapest GP.
I live 200km from that Circuit, and you won"t believe the weather forecast.
On entire next weekend the temperatures will be between 37-40C,soo this is going to be a big test for the pirreli tyres. It might be the hotest race in entire season with track temperatures reaching way above the 50C.
This weather forecast is 90% right.I expect a very interesting race again...
But I hope just that if its going to be soo hot that the tyres will hold out.

Lotus is in a good phase, while RBR can not be disregarded. Fernando will be after a podium once again but the temps might be too much for the improved Merc.

I expect McLaren and Toro Rosso to complete the top-10.

Yeah, summer is gonna show it's hand over Central-Eastern Europe this coming week...

I expect Vettel to win, 90% (after Montreal and the Nurburgring, winning at the Hungaroring, he can have his cake and eat it). His rivals: Kimi, Webbo, GroJohn and Fred, in that order. Merc for pole but then the track heat will eat 'em up.

McLaren? The same McLaren that've been pretty slow on a regular basis? Far more chance of FI being in the top 10 than McLaren.

Actually its going to be around 30-33 °C, could be slightly cloudy, but no rain. It will feel very stuffy, and scorching hot. Track should be hottet in the season.

Raikkonen needs to win if he wants the championship fight to be within his reach. P2, P3 won't be enough if Vettel ends up before him.

Challenge accepted  well Red Bull cannot be ruled out , I believe they have the best package overall at the moment ,so obviously they will be very strong again and will fight for the win. When we consider high temperature expected for next week, Lotus also will be assertive again like in Germany. They are among favorites for the race. Ferrari will probably try to be on the podium and I would say it is very likely. If they can be close enough to front runners, they can take advantage of a probable problem of their rivals and win the race. I do not expect much from Mercedes due to the same reason behind the strength of Lotus :drunk: Normally I would say Force India will be strong, but after tyre structure change, I cannot predict how they will perform from now on (since there was assumptions that FI would be most effected team from this change). I hope Silverstone test became beneficial for Sauber and they can show improvement in car performance, so that a top 8 result( though unlikely :( ) would be very positive for the future  one STR will be within top 10.

This race will surely be like Catalunya and Bahrain. Mercs on pole then falling back, with Red Bull, Lotus and Ferrari disputing the win. Ferrari might qualify too far back to be a threat though, they really need to sort that out.

Nope mate, you don"t know the weather situation here. Its going to be much more hoter, temperatures might reach 39C surelly.
This weather forecast is usually showing 2C lower temperatures that there really are.In my city its showing 27C,and its now already 30C.
On Friday it will be(34-35C there)
Saturday(37-38C,20% of thunderstorms)
Sunday(38-39C,30% of thunderstorms)
I think we might see the same podium as in Germany, with webber closer to the podium...

Ok mate didn"t know that...
But still its going to be very hot, this think will suit the lotus, ferrari more, but first we need to see what did the test bring.
Another offical meteo Hungary weather forecast!

BTW:If this air temperatures will really be that high,I expect track temperatures reaching also over the 50C marker..

My weather forecast shows slightly higher ambient temperature. But either way, the track temperature should be in the high 40s, and maybe even reaching low 50s. That is going into uncharted territories and playing into Lotus' strength. RBR should be competitive as well. Mercedes should still have the edge over 1 lap pace, but not sure whether they could stay competitive in the heat during the race. Ferrari, I can't say whether the heat will benefit or trouble them.

this is the closest you will get, in terms of accuracy:

http://www.idokep.hu/

You can certainly add though 1-2 degrees to the site itself, especially if its not going to be a windy weekend(which of course is uknown), the track is basically surrounded by hills, , in a basin. If the track temp hits the high 40's at least, it could level the field, in terms of tyre behavior. Its a twisty, tight, and mech traction dominated track, a RB hunting ground, but its going to be close. It is an unknown how Merc are going to be affected by the new tyres in extreme conditions expected, and missing running on them in the YDT. It's going to be interesting.

With these high temperatures, Mercedes are a sitting duck, even with these new tyres. Though they will undoubtly get pole and a possible front row lock out. I expect a Red Bull vs Lotus battle in the race again. Force India might suffer again because of the new tyres.

Not too sure it's going to be a given that Mercedes will get pole, 'cause I think Red Bull will have a greater chance (but I said the exact same ahead of Silverstone too....)
The race is once again going to be between Vettel and Räikkönen.

In Brazil 2007, the hottest race I can remember through pre-race graphics, air temperature was 36º and track temperature was 63º. That was part of the reason why Ferrari slaughtered McLaren, and why Hamilton needed 3 stopping, which costed him the title after the gearbox gremlin.

Sure every tarmac is different, but I expect huge track temperature if air temperature hits 40º. 60º isn´t crazy.

It will be interesting to see whether Lotus and Ferrari have an edge in race pace with those temperatures. That could be too warm even for RB and a possible disaster for Merc. But who knows - F1 is hard to predict these days.

I hope tyres don't decide this race. Would like to see 2-3 teams battling for the win.

But my bet is on Lotus. In such a hot weather, they should qualify well and should be superior on the race day.

Seen as the tyres are relatively conservative, and if the track isn't too warm, I'd have to back a Hamilton pole/win. Their car is good in the slow twisty stuff, Hamilton has won 3 times in Hungary already, overtaking isn't too easy...

They wont stand a chance in the race, with track temps in the 50's and the softer compounds! Wherever they start from, they will drop back by a good few positions, 'cause remember that they still have issues with tyre-life, but to compound the problem further, they will go into the weekend blind-folded from not having run these tires at all.

Lotus do well when the temps are hot, don't they? I like the forecast. The tyres are going to melt into cheese in a lap or two though. Cue a 35 pitstop race.

New tyres (2012 specs with 2013 compounds) lasted well at silverstone test when temperatures were very hot, not that many stops excpected.

I do not fancy Ferrari
Slow twisty technical tracks are not their strength. (Massa is often good around here though)

I guess Merc look good for pole although they have have struggled more to score their poles on the slower tracks (e.g. Silverstone & Spain were easy 1-2s, Monaco and Nurburgring were not). Also I keep remembering Hungary last year where they were very weak (although I know the car is very different this year, this track often doesn't favour the same cars as Monaco).

RB could take pole but surely the Lotus will be the best race car.

The Lotus do well whatever the temps are in fact. They scored nice results in very different tracks and conditions. Wet tracks are their achilles heel... as well as race weekends were Pirelli brings the wrong tires like in Canada...

I live 200 km from Hungaroring and 38C is expected for the weekend. The temperature is rising every day by 1-2C with a sunny hot week reaching its peak during the weekend. All meterology services are already issuing high temperature warnings. It will be very hot, 38C for sure if not even more!

Good, but what matters even more will be the tarmac temperatures, when it comes to tyres....should be good for Lotus even if others benefit a lot from new tyre specs.

I hope for a 1-2 for red bull with vettel winning it,it might just happened if the Red Bull did something special in the test.I think they know these tyres better now, they won"t have the same problem as the mercedes.Lotus,Red Bull cars will fight for the victory with Vettel,Webber having a slight edge because starting 1 row at least higher...

If the 60C track temperature does materialise, even RBR would be greatly affected and it will be a race of attrition. Mediums, with their low optimum working temperature, will probably suffer from thermal degradation. It may actually swing softs into the preferred race tyres.
