Shows how exciting the racing has been.

I'm really struggling. That double Bombay & tonic is kicking in.

So JJ doesn't win. Schumy's record still stands.

While I'm glad that Johnson was the victim of defied logic instead being the defied logic, this tire situation and aero situation is ridiculous. The Gen 6 was supposed to fix this, but it seems like it's as bad as it ever was. And the tires, is it really that hard for Goodyear to make a tire that falls off? But hey, drivers aren't allowed to complain about the car without penalty, so what can you do?

At the end of the day, this is where NASCAR should be at this weekend instead of IMS:

Throw some more grandstands on that bitch and you're good to go.

This race wasn't so bad if you watched it at the third fast forward speed. I got it out of the way in less than half an hour.

Cup 'n trucks at Pocono next week, Nationwide at Iowa. At least the NNS race won't be infested with you-know-whos.

Plus, you can dust off them good ol' corn jokes! Good times.

I hope IndyCar can regain it's fanbase and become a viable competitor in ratings again when they become network brethren in 2015, so then maybe the NASCAR brass would stop believing their own bullshit that all these big tracks on the schedule are consistently providing good racing.

Penske is going to be a meanie and send Logano down instead of sending Young Blaney.

Larson is probably going to replace him or McMurray. Though, I think would want to keep him NW for another year. . .

Going by recent stories, it seems Ganassi has finally lost patience. Annoying considering the team looks as if its headed in the right direction and the shitty equipment JPM and JMac had to deal with over the last two seasons.

Moving Larson up straight away would be a mistake imo, just look at Stenhouse's struggles. Problem is the longer you wait, the more you risk losing him to one of the powerhouse teams.

Simply a Hendrick engine display indicating the advantage they've had this year (with, of course, the exception that finished 30th).

The last few races before the Chase actually look like they'll be pretty interesting, as some big names look to be clustered around the bubble including last year's champ (RIchmond may be more compelling than the Johnson benefit to finish the year).

Did it seem like they were trying extra hard to hype this race this year? Too bad that a plate race, Indy, and Charlotte are considered the majors, give me road courses/short tracks over any of them...

Ganassi don't have anyone for their fourth Indycar yet.

Wish they'd send him down to Cuba.

But that is going to a pay driver or Hinch.

What I got out of this race is what Brad K said about Johnson. "Does he get sick of being this good every race? (some expletive somewhere in there)" Jimmie Johnson is still the best driver by miles. You'll get the likes of Brad K, Logano, Stewart, New-man!, Gordon, Bowyer occasionally shine and take wins, but it's always, Jimmie J vs. someone else.

I don't think its so much the car as its just Indy. As we all know, the track wasn't intended for stock cars and it rarely puts on a wire to wire exciting race. We get the occasional good finish (like yesterday's NW race in the final 30 laps or so) but a good deal of the races end up like today; little passing, one or two cars dominating the entire thing. The biggest screw up is NASCAR scheduling Indy and Pocono back to back. They must be looking for the cure to insomnia.

I would love to see Ana Beatriz in the fourth Ganassi ride.
But that Bia Figuerado chick will probably get first dibs.

Does that narrow down the options? Normally a driver wouldn't commit to a team unless the sponsorship is lined up, so methinks it's not someone currently racing(or at least full-time).

Tony Stewart, always interesting to listen to, makes a point I try to make when defending F1 to folks who are exclusively NASCAR fans.

I asked Tony Stewart, owner of Newman’s race-winning team, if he thought anything could be done to bring some passing into the Brickyard 400.

He took mild umbrage at the question but gave a great, typically interesting answer.

“Look at `racing’ in the dictionary and tell me what `racing’ says,” Stewart said. “Look up `passing’ and tell me what `passing’ is. We’re racing here. This is racing. If you want to see passing, we can go out on 465 and pass all you want and if you can tell me that’s actually more exciting than what you see here.

“It doesn’t have to be two- and three-wide racing all day long to be good racing. Racing is about figuring out the package you’re allowed and making it better that what everybody else has. I’ve seen races here won by over a lap, seen 20-second leads here, and for some reason the last 10 years everybody is on this kick that you’ve got to be passing all the time. It’s racing, not passing. ... I don’t know where this big kick comes from. It baffles me.”

If his team hadn't won I'm sure he'd be bitching about the quality of the racing.

Both are wrong. Races like this year's Indy 500 in Indycars are meaningless. Races like this year's Pocono in Indycars are tedious to watch. Good formula is somewhere in the middle.

Well, stick a few cops in blindspots and some unmarked. . .
