He is one for the Sunbeam experts. I am trying to find out a little more about FBW Oldfield who worked for Crossley in 1908. This was in Hull and Manchester, then he spent four years with Armstrong-Whitworth before moving to Sunbeam in 1912. He claimed to have raced for Sunbeam in 1912 (on the track - which may mean Brooklands), then he joined the British Imperial Secret Service in the Great War. After that he moved to Australia and worked for Skipper Bailey and Winterbottom Motors before getting involved with Attwood Motors. At Attwood Motors he was a part of the Chrysler record breaking on Lake Perkolilli (Attwood and Colliver) in 1926 and 1927.
Any clues on his early motor racing at Sunbeam cars?
