That said Alonso with his manager have contact Red Bull friday. Sport Bild have talk to Red Bull and they confirm this, and say it's Alonso who ask to drive for them and they didn't contact him before.

Alonso want to drive for Red Bull next year.

EDIT :

I just found this thread, so i think this topic can be closed

Vettel will throw enough of a temper tantrum if he gets Raikkonen anyway. He would absolutely not allow Alonso as a teammate.

This redbull seat story is getting exciting. :drunk:

I wonder about the secret agenda behind this.

Someone want to upset Ferrari and keep them thinking all summer long.

You mean he'll slam his glass down in a contrived attempt to show his displeasure ?.

Christian Horner accidentally insulted Webber a couple of years back by saying 2 world class drivers is no good didn't he..
This seems very unlikely

I can imagine Alonso wanting to drive for RB what with this years championship slipping away again but I'm not sure if he will get anywhere

Alonso "I will never driver for Ferrari" and "Ferrari will be my last team for sure"?

If you think he's overrated, why are you so opposed? If Vettel could beat Alonso in the same car it would do wonders for his reputation.

Relax, he is just happy that the whiny crying Webber is away.

Isn't this solely based on Garcia being seen talking with Horner? It is said that the topic was Sainz Jr, not Alonso? If the only source is Bild, I'll not hold my breath.

Alonso won't be welcome at Red Bull for the same reason Hamilton was not.

More than anything else, this would get Ferrari all worked up and a couple of heads may roll. There are rumours already that the new Ferrari engine may have some trouble.

For which artista reasoned that if it is Sainz, it is mostly related to STR and Horner has nothing to do with it. There is no reason for Garcia to talk to Horner if that's the case. Marko and Tost would be more like it.

Like I wrote on other thread... Horner didn't deny Alonso-RBR rumour, didn't admit it either

He's such a perfect Ferrari driver though... what if... it was a straight swap between Vettel and Alonso?

Why on earth would Red Bull let Ricciardo drive in Silverstone then? This rumour is rubbish, unless Vettel walks the other way and moves to Ferrari, but don't see that happening. It was about Sainz Jr. why Alonso's manager and Horner were seen together.

I wonder if a probe-talk is actually about a TR driver replacing Massa, and all this noise has nothing to do with Alonso.

What if there is some truth to the rumour of Kimi to Ferrari and Fernando doesn't like it. Instead of facing Kimi he would rather face Vettel in a car he seems to believe is the best.

That may sound crazy but this is a silly season topic and it's fun to come up with crazy ideas...

Well they will need a fast experienced driver. Could I suggest MW be talked out of F1 retirement, perhaps with a dangling carrot of a factory Ferrari WEC team for 2015 ?
Ah, perchance to dream.

What are Kimi Räikkönen's views about a potential return to Maranello? Does he has any?

Neither Vergne or Ricciardo would be an improvement over Massa. On the contrary, they both would be clear downgrades, especially Vergne.

Personally I would believe he isn't too keen on it but he has stated the he doesn't have any problem with it.

I actually agree that neither of them is at the moment fit for RB seat IMO. Perhaps under further development this could change, I am not sure.

The rumor only confirms one thing - Ferrari needs to replace Massa. the 1,5 cars team is in huge trouble, if the No.1 leaves the team.

No way that Alonso would willingly go up against Vettel. Not part of his mental make up.

Last year it was the 'Vettel to Ferrari' rumour to play mind games with Vettel, this year 'Alonso to Red Bull' to try the same with Alonso? If so I hope if has the same effect as last year.

The only way Vettel and Marko would allow this, is if the team was setup to screw over Alonso like Dennis did at McLaren. Alonso's not going to fall for that again.

New engines next year anyway, so the title should be open to more than a Newey/Renault EBD car clean sweeping it again. Foolish to change teams unless Alonso already knows the Ferrari engine won't be competitive again.

The problem is Alonso has contract with Ferrari until 2016, so it would be expensive for him (or red bull) to break that deal....unless there is some clauses (like some point amount not achieved)that could make it happend.

IDK what to make of this. yes, Alonso is frustrating as seeing yet again the title slip away to RBR and VET. Yes, he would like to win it with Ferrari. No, I would never see him accepting to drive alongside VET, especially since he has RBR in his pocket. To those saying VET will switch to Ferrari, why would he do that? VET doesn't care about proving himself in a slower car, that much is a given. All he cares about is winning everything left and right.

As to the Kimi to Ferrari stuff, he has a better shot at the title at Lotus. While he's indifferent to his past at Ferrari, I don't think Luca will share his feelings. After all, he was the one that bought his contract just to bring Alonso in.

Not really. Unless Ferrari have been able to develop and winner into a turd.
How far back do we have to go to see another example of an early WCC contender become a midfielder by midseason? It can't be all the car.

Anyhow, Alonso to Red Bulls seems entirely far fetched for plenty of reasons.

Because they'll lose the WCC?

And we all know what'll actually happen is the usual culprits will claim "team favouritism" or "Alonso in his prime would've destroyed Vettel" or "Alonso was just off his game" or something along those lines "The V6s don't suit Alonso" etc etc.

Why did Massa finish so far back from Alonso then?
