WE POCONO AGAIN

Welcome racefans to beautiful Pocono and the famous Tricky Tr-- wait....didn't we just do this?

Yes, yes we did. June 9th in fact. Jimmie won the pole, led 128 of 160 laps, and won the race.
So NASCAR probably figured we'd all want to relive that magic again 7 weeks later.

Stuff you should know-
Entry List
Times

Friday, August 2
11:30 am - 1:00 pm NSCS Practice
3:10 pm NSCS Qualifying
Saturday, August 3
9:00 - 9:50 am NSCS Practice
11:30 am - 12:20 pm NSCS Final Practice
Sunday, August 4
1:00 pm NSCS GoBowling.com 400 Race

*The race is called the Go Bowling 400. 50 laps in, that might not be a bad idea.

Obviously last time the Cup cars were in Pocono, the Nationwide Series raced in Iowa. This time it's different as the Nationwide Series comes to ... Iowa.

WE IOWA AGAIN

Why are we doing this again? Well, Austin Dillon won the pole, led 207 of 250 laps, but got trolled by T-Bayne to finish second in
the race.
And who doesn't like seeing a Dillon being trolled. They wear dumb hatz.
Stuff you should know-

*Regan Smith has lost his championship lead. Blames Low-T..

TRUCKS NOW?
They're joining the big boys in beautiful Pocono.

Good news; he's not entered!! No Cup drivers in NCWTS this week! And only Brad is bothering to make the trek to Iowa. Actual, watchable races! Sheeyat.

So, if no driver is entered in the Mike Harmon #74, we'll end up with a field that isn't filled. Not a good sign.

Meh, will you really miss the presence of a couple of failed development drivers?
Harmon usually fills the car with a Kevin LePage, or a Carl Long, someone of that caliber.

Keep an eye out for Travis Sauter, who'll be making his NASCAR debut at Iowa. I thought he'd be Johnny's little brother. It's actually his nephew. How old must Uncle Johnny feel?

Edit- JWT's 12 questions: I wonder how hard it was for Jeff Gluck to a) remain professional and b) not crap his pants laughing at the given answers.

Stop being such a worry wart for S&Ps. NASCAR has had short fields before and they will after this.

He did this interview right after Townley spun 6 times at Eldora practice, he joked on Twitter that no punches were thrown. I'm kinda disappointed Gluck didn't rib him about it in the interview.

Nah, can't be too hard on JWT. His father is the one sponsoring my bus ride. Infact he insisted we make a quick stop at Zaxby's on the way to the track.

Trucks:
What is going on at Thorsport? Over the last month they've sat Todd Bodine in favour of a rookie and a has-been, and now Bodine has scored the TSM #30 ride, while the Thorsport #13 isn't even showing up at Pocono.
btw Todd was enjoyable to listen to in the booth recently. But that massive pink head and creepy smile to camera makes me think there's a job for him at MRN, rather than FOX.

CrimeWatch 2013:
Mike Harmon is now listed as the driver of the #84 truck, and BFF JenJo Cobb in the #10. I believe this will be the first race seeing them side-by-side since, you know, Harmon pinched all her ****.
Hopefully she puts him in the wall and he is forced to rob a PepBoys for new parts.

Nothing really, Bodine only had like a 3 race deal with Thorsport. That 13 is a little bit of a experiment to see if a 3rd truck will bring down Sauter and Crafton.

I bet you they race each other clean. NASCAR's probably talked to them about keeping NASCAR out of the tabloids.

Carl Long is driving the Rick Ware #15 in Iowa this weekend.

I wonder what Harmon would charge as 1st time starter to run the race even if it means they have to do a quiet start and park after 10-20 laps?

Geez, can't NASCAR create a rule that mandates for Johnson to start from the back every race or take away like 5 horsepower from his car?

Something? Anything?

I think they should have to have a simulated beard around the front of every car to the same extent as the driver has facial hair. That oughta make things interesting enough.

I like your idea.
The manufactures wanted the front-ends to resemble their road-going counterparts, but I would support a shift towards making the front-ends resemble the drivers.
Keselowski's Ford would have a mahoossive front grille, Danica's Chevy would have those horrible headlight eyelashes, and Tony Stewart would have 3 front splitters.

Wtf? The NASCAR trophy this weekend is identical to the Indycar trophy. Ie Eagle-Giving-Birth but with a different sponsor logo.

At least it was on message having it 4th of July weekend, but this is just reeeedickulolz.

Meanwhile in a cornfield-

#3-Austin Dillon was fastest during opening practice at Iowa Speedway with a speed of 134.765mph.
#29-Kenny Wallace was second, followed by:
#32-Kyle Larson,
#30-Nelson Piquet, Jr.,
#99-Alex Bowman,
#60-Travis Pastrana,
#54-Drew Herring,
#20-Brian Vickers,
#70-Johanna Long,
and #11-Elliott Sadler.

All 40 drivers practiced during the session.

They've been hassling his car the last few weeks in inspection, taking a lot longer than other cars so I guess NASCAR is desperately trying to find something wrong. Of course, Knaus is the definition of "gray area" so they probably have to go over everything inch by inch.

NiceJp.

It is raining in beautiful Pocono, thus NCWTS quali has been cancelled. Starting order is determined by practice speeds.
Here's your Top 10.
#32-Miguel Paludo
#19-Ross Chastain
#4-Jeb Burton
#77-German Quiroga
#54-Darrell Wallace, Jr.
#29-Ryan Blaney
#30-Todd Bodine,
#31-James Buescher
#88-Matt Crafton
and #18-Joey Coulter.

All 4 Turner trucks lol

Looks like Cup practice is off too.
I'm selfishly hoping the rain delays the truck race til about 4pm. I gotta see a man about some wood.

Well done Blaney.

They didn't show much of Bubba in his drive through the field, but I was watching the ticker. From 34th to 14th in 15 laps of green running. Solid
