I believe that's the last chance for Keselonski to get a points cushion into the Chase.
Ford is waaay underpowered. ):

Here's a compilation of Marcos The Good, and his 5 NASCAR wins at The Glen-

Posted Image

2008-2009-2010 NNS winner
2011-2012 Cup winner

I wouldn't put JPM in the 'BAD' category. 'BAD' strategy definitely. But with no Villainouef (literally French for 'bad egg) who else? Kurt's been on his best behavior, which in itself brings the sport into disrepute. !

'UGLY'. Nailed it. Look at that mug.

Not ""Bad" as in talent, more like "Bad" boy because some people think he is crazy on the road courses.

Damn....criticizing my OP right out of the gate. Where's my positive reinforcement? :D

Yay - Road Course!

Another chance for Monty to show some sort of potential to win but deliver nothing!

Happy to be proven wrong :)

So, what's going to happen to Kyle Busch this year that will prevent him from winning in the final laps?

Danico swore Revenge after Montoyo Poconoed him yesterday:
'He [Montoya] just forgot to turn left'.
'Iwill remember that'.

Montoya meet Ricky after the race and apologized; that have been cleared up.

Not that it would matter at the Glen anyway since Ricky is not good on road courses.

So he'll be hanging around at the back with Danica?

Stenhouse does have a 4th place at the Glen (2012), but he was nowhere in the other NNS road races. That said, Nationwide and Cup are very different (as Danica Patrick's performances at road courses have demonstrated).

Last year had one of the best final laps anywhere, anytime.

Yup. Contrary to popular belief, the road races aren't just Montoya vs Ambrose. Keselowski and Kyle Busch were right there with Ambrose at the end.

Just saw the entry list of The Glen at Gayski.

Kelly Owens in the Phoenix Cup #51.
Kyle Busch to double duty in the Cup M&M and the NNS MonsterMobile
Citizen Kahne, Lagano, Keselonski, Vicky also on a double shift.
No Billy The Kid Johnson in NNS :(

NNS line-up w/ just 39 cars... somebody here or Paludo should take a car and do a $tart'npark.

I'm no doctor, but if it's a compound fracture (bone protruding out the leg), I doubt he would have even limped away from that. And he would be done for the season.

That said, three wrecks in three weeks for Stewart in Sprint Cars.

I know Tony scoffed at the question after 2nd wreck and that there no authority that can stop since he is own boss, but maybe some self-preservation should prevail this time.

Keep it in the offseason, Tony.

This report says he was helicoptered to another hospital. You would think any hospital could handle a broken leg. (My speculation) It must have been a bad break to require a helicopter ride to a better hospital.

What a dumbass. Particularly since he's a team owner. He has greater responsibilities to sponsor. Yeah he's a racer, he's Tony stewart, blah blah, but like Kubica this is why you don't do it...

Yeah, wonder if this will bring about increased restrictions in driver contracts regarding freelance event participation. The sponsors obviously must be steamed about potentially missing Chase exposure. Cup was pretty much injury free for a long time, so this issue might not have been a consideration but now will be a talking point.

Adding insult is that this has been an exceptionally good track for Stewart apart from the last 2 years:

T-Stew raced with a broken shoulder blade.

For a fracture of this type, it's likely they have inserted rods to hold the bones together. Once the rods are in place, there are no serious restrictions on movement after about a week or so. It's all pain tolerance. And say what you will about T-Stew, he's a tough SOB and he won't let any amount of pain sideline him. I'm sure he'll be in the car (albeit likely with a reserve driver) within a few weeks.

As far as the helicopter ride, he needed surgery and a superstar like T-Stew is going to get transported to where the best lower leg fracture repair doc in the region has operating privileges, that's all that happened.

Lewis Hamilton is off this week. I know there is no way that hamilton's contract will allow him to drive it, but he has taken Tony's car around the glen before.

Mark Martin in the #14? Had 3 wins in the 90's (I know, a while ago), but he's looking for part time work for next season. Work that former tie-in with Hendrick and get in one of the best cars in NASCAR.

Plus I see Lewis ending up in NASCAR in the next few years anyways so a jump start wouldn't be too much of a risk. For a road race, and seeing as V8 Supercars isn't running, get a Holden driver over here (wasn't Whincup in some NASCAR talk a few years back?). Ekstrom ran for Red Bull in a couple of races when Vickers was out a few years ago and with little testing did well.

Someone get Robby Gordon on the phone.

Seriously, either they'll pay JTG to get Allmendinger or it'll be Regan Smith or something.

Piquet would be sweet.

Gordon was the first of the traditional, non-entered roadies that came to mind. Wonder if they might try to pull Fellows or Said out of their current entries.

Dare I throw out JV for further thread amusement? Teammate entertainment with Danica?

I am not going to bash Stewart for running these cars. He loves to do it, he's rich and he is already a 3-time Champion in NASCAR and a won one in Indycar. He has nothing to prove anymore.

He is also one of those people (like Montoya) who just don't enjoy working out every day. Racing these cars gave him a good workout and at least kept him in "Tony" shape. If he wasn't racing I don't think he would be on the spin bike or jogging.

How come no one thinks Steven Wallace wont get the drive? ;)

Regan Smith sounds like the safe, sensible, realistic choice. He's already a Hendrick guy.

Pocono: Youtube extended highlights will suffice for Cup. Trucks was OK, just one hour lenght. So highlights.

I'm still trying to figure out what happened that caused Tony's car to suddenly start cartwheeling. He's drifting the corner, then *bam* it looks like he hit a concrete post in the middle of the track. Except I don't see any object that caused the flip in the replays. What am I missing?
