It's nice that Autosport are showing the races live and I hope that there are some dudes/dudettes around here who more or less enjoy these series. Fingers crossed that over the years they'll become better and better. So if anyone wants to see the highlights and such through out the year, have a gander at this: GT Series/Blancpain Channel
Hey, they have Loeb, you know

So about the current Slovakiaring race nr.1: that start from Parente was absolute tits.

Blancpain is one of my favorite series. Except the GT3 balance of performance which is complete arse. 'GT1' is crap though.

The race wasn't that bad and Loeb is on pole for the second one. Maybe I enjoy GT1 because of being a big Loeb fan :p

Good idea. Might give this series ago. I've never seen this track.

I guess you won't be enjoying GT1 now :(

That tyre chicane looks awkward. Haven't seen one of those since Barcelona 1994.

Nice win for the #2, cool dudes those two and what a brutal overtake by Rast, four wide!

Not sure why you are calling the once again resurrected FIA GT Series "GT1" since

A) GT1 is dead
B) They're all GT3s
C) Most importantly SRO already dropped it (year too late, mind you...) from the official series title once they lost the World Championship status

My opinion on the current state of GT racing in FIA (GT3) and ACO (LMGTE) form can be found from my signature below. Also as if the situation wasn't already ruined in Europe and North America, Super GT now ***** too since they adopted the horrible DTM designs for the GT500, and GT300 was already ruined by GT3

Oh god sonny. It sounds like you might be in the nostalgia forum with your zimmer frame and monocle soon! :D

But I agree. The BOP is absolutely shocking, GT3 is the worst. And I know the GT1 is dead, hence the qoute marks when I mentioned it. Ahhhhhh

Shame they used a tyre chicane. I'm guessing the cars are a bit too fast to go over the bump

Saw some of the race at the weekend on MotorsTV, surprised by the number of spectators, on the two occassions I've been to Silverstone to watch (2013 and 2011) the marshals pretty much outnumbered the paying public! Plus it's incredibly hard to follow with the classes they have when you're actually there, although this isn't helped by Silverstone failing to have any programs available on both occassions! Saying that for the price of a clubby at Mallory it's ok I guess?

Anybody here for the last Blancpain race of the year - the Nurburgring 1000?

It's live on the Autosport home page for any dude/dudette willing to watch a foggy Nurburgring before and after the Singapore Grand Prix.

Yo, what's up?

That Mercedes is incredible. Hoping Marc VDS can pull something out of the bag.

That would be cool indeed. Rooting for the #11 McLaren to catch up on the leading two but that #84 Mercedes in quite godlike as it was in Spa. Bad bad day for Zampieri in that Ferrari, and I don't think I've seen Parente as aggressive as this before. Also rooting for the Nissan GT Academy dudes in the Pro-Am.

Total choke, yeah mate. The battles for the second to sixth grid positions are damn entertaining.

If anyone is interested in attending theBlancpain Sprint meeting at Brands Hatch on the 18th May, the promo code of BPGT gives you a general admission and a Paddock Hill grandstand ticket for £15.00 if you book online today. That's compared to the 'on the gate' price of £25 ticket + a further £10 for the grandstand on the day...

Thanks for that, a good deal if you just want to go on Sunday, but a bit strange that it makes the weekend admission more expensive with that code!

Try the same code with 2014 after it (no spaces) that might give you £5 off.
