I'm serious here, just bear with me. Ricciardo seems to be a decent prospect, enough for Red Bull to want to sign him.

 

Given that Red Bull took much glee in trying to destablise Ferrari at Hungary (which worked wonders) I wonder if Ferrari might consider repaying the compliment by snatching Ricciardo and then just paying Red Bull off.

 

Slightly flippant idea, but one that would amuse me no end.

Ricciardo IS under contract with Red Bull, it does not state for which team or series he is driving for them.

I think Ferrari should sign every racing driver in the world and pay them for not driving F1.

Signing Ricciardo out of spite when they can easily get Hulkenberg who is arguably rated much higher than him?

Furthermore there's a difference. This time Red Bull didn't make things up out of nothing. It's Alonso's manager who created the drama. Who knew LdM would fall for it so readily?

Yeah, I think the only thing we are missing in the silly season is Vettel telling the media that he got bored after winning four titles and wants to get out of RBR for a new challenge immediately, not after the 2015 contract ends.
