Did France have their own National/Regional GT race Championship series consisting of Road Races and Hill climbs?  What European magazines covered these events and are there any links to sites that might have any available articles in French or English?  I'm mostly concerned with the Sports Car events from 1962-1970....

In the later years, the races are covered quite well by Echappement.  This was by then the Criterium national des circuits - hill climbs had their own National and Regional series.

At the earlier end of your period, it is unlikely that the races were organised as a championship.  The idea of organising everything as a championship only really started around 1964 and a few years later in France.

I think you could try Sport Auto which used to have great motor sports coverage in the 60's/70’s.I’m not sure if the weekly Autohebdo was around in those days. There were other magazines such as Virage but they are long gone.

Another avenue would be to pose this question on either of the two excellent French “Historic” site

You’ll have to register---but if I can do it with my “schoolboy” French most folks can!

Thanks Allen and David, I'll check those websites and also see if I can find any of those magazines.
