Yeah, I prefer Kanaan being in the #10 to Briscoe, although I know the difference is only symbolic rather than substantial.

What does Justin Wilson have to do to get a top drive? Maybe Scott vetoed it?

Don't you think Chipper has the last call on drivers? Withouttadoubt

I don't think I'll ever be able to give a shit about numbers on a racing car. It's one step above tire wars and "headline tech signings" in the boredom awards to me.

Number 8 on Briscoe's car is still better than that 38/83 thing the Ganassi B Team ran with Rahal and Kimball.

Wonder how this will impact Kimball. He was obviously the bottom rung in the stable with 4 cars previously, and while he won't be on par in terms of resources as the Target cars, will Briscoe get the nod over Kimball, sending the diabetic ginger to the bottom of the pecking order?

Perhaps Chip didn't want to buy him out of the DCR contract? Besides, they had an existing tie-up with Briscoe\NTT back at Indy.

Well, keeping in mind his "B-team" teammate was originally going to be Kanaan with Franchitti still on board, Kimball's situation certainly hasn't gotten worse than it would have been.

I think it will be like the Briscoe and Allmendinger cars, a mix of 'house' brands. Minus Izod.

Does it make that much difference? (genuine question, not being snarky!)

With the Target seat filled, any chance di Resta still ends up in Indycar for 2014?

Why not Sato?... yes, why not indeed. Foyt reconfirms Taku for 2014.

It is not yet announced. I heard from a friend close to the team on Monday that Sato and Honda will both be back.

So we have the Bryan Herta seat open, along with the seats at Dale Coyne (Wilson is under contract supposedly), Panther, and maybe Dreyer & Reinbold (though they only seem poised for a run at the 500).

At the most 4 seats remain and a hell of a lot of great drivers looking at them like a hungry pack of wolves who've gone the winter without food.

Hawksworth has driving skill but too raw and often rough with the car. Needs more seasoning. Meanwhile what about Sage Karam? Hopefully Luca Filippi gets Herta ride permanently for the season. He improved each race

First thing that was done when it was introduced - I've discussed this in the TNF "New Look Forum is Here" thread. Everything worked fine with my computer after the updates to the Autosport forums until four days ago, and now nothing will paste. I appreciate your suggestion, but nothing attempted will make a difference to allow the pasting procedure to occur.

What browser are you on?

Under some conditions i noticed the newest versions of IE would prevent pasting into multiline text boxes if under Compatibility Mode.

This is just a stab in the dark but i hope you'll find it helpful.

I post from different computers, depending on my location - all I know is that from September 2008 until four days ago, I never had an issue with any system used. Nothing (zip, zero, nada) has been changed at my end. I'm not going to reconfigure my already well-established systems or buy new equipment to participate with photos and links. These are nice tools to have at my availbility, but I'm not going to re-invent the wheel to accomplish it. It seems to me something is askew at this end.

Testing at Sebring, from National Speed Sport News:

It seems that, for my system(s), the lightswitch must be off to accept pasting, then on for additional accessories. That makes a lot of sense.

Wonder who he had tested for. But doesn't he own an AutoGP team?

One an odd side note, I have reservations at his family restaurant on Tuesday (spending Christmas and NY's with the GF's family).

The one in London, which Flavio has a stake in, can't go by the Cipriani name because of some trademark something or other with a hotel group.

It was 'okay' I guess. Though along with Scott's and various other scene places I got to go to it was always on someone else's expenses.

Quick Anecdote:

"I'm getting in on Saturday, but I'm busy Monday so we're doing Nobu on Sunday at 8"
"This Sunday?"
"Yep"
"Uh..."
"Can you make it?"
"Sure, and so will everyone else"
"What do you mean?"
"You booked on Valentine's Day"

Just two dudes talking about racing. It actually ranks up there on my Valentine's Day hall of fame.

He at one time was the championship leader last year. I think he was one the right track, then the wheels just fell off. Bad set-ups giving him lackluster results. I think as a driver he was there, but not having the car did him in.

Or the tyre changes made him look good at the start of the season. At Long Beach and Sao Paulo he took the lead in the pits, to my recollection.

You say it like that's not what Michael Schumacher did for 90% of the wins when he didn't start on pole.

Here's a stat I didn't know: in the second half of the season, Sato only got to the finish once (one lap down, at Mid-Ohio). One usually notices a 9-retirements-in-10-races streak, so perhaps this tells a story.

We'll always have Long Beach.

Some of those must have been anonymous DNFs because I don't remember tons and tons of incidents. Stuff like Pocono yeah, but...uh..not so much others. Though maybe we got used to them?

I was at Milwaukee and he was contending for the win most of the afternoon and I kept thinking "I bet the thread is amazing right now"

He had a lot of shit break on him and he would pit to retire the car. I still didn't think it was 9 out of the last 10 race, though.

Schumacher's consistency and pace at the front was unrivalled for some time. I can't say the same for Sato in Indycar when he averages one podium a season.

It's a damn shame Wilson hasn't received a top drive yet - everyone knows he would do a magnificent job. Sadly, talent alone does not always seem to be enough these days.

Last time I checked, Briscoe and Kanaan were being paid to drive at Ganassi. I think it's a combination of Wilson not being sponsor-friendly enough for Chip's liking and the issue of buying him out of the existing DCR contract. Wilson was the one who signed up there for 2 years after all...

At what level did his funding drop for him to lose the Marussia seat though? Those are all non-paying gigs in IndyCar.

Kinda surprised BHA is mentioned though. So I can potentially assume Barracuda Networks left as the sponsor (allowing them to pay Tagliani to crash the car)? Shame as as late as Fontana the talk was that it was between Hildebrand (who has disappeared from the IndyCar talk after being a emerging star prior to 2013) and Luca Filippi.
