I think they have to, because the rule is if you hit another person's stuff, and unless there's a clear violation by the #12 team rather than being unhelpful, the rulebook backs them into a corner?

Was this mistake Dixon's or the Penske tire guy?

All the same, this is a Spa 2008 of an anal stewarding decision

BTW, Scott's rear tyres when he was leaving were cutting through Will's pit - if he was still being serviced he would hit the guy regardless!

Penske mechanic was at it - casually carrying the tyre way out, made no effort to get out the way.  Got the smack he deserved, shocker of a decision from the stewards.

The black tire mark was right on the white line. How is that a panalty? And that ass tire guy did it deliberately.

If it isn't any Dick Dastardly move, than it's one of the most brain dead things I've seen since watching motorsport. That's Darwin Awards near level of s**ty buffoonery.

They are *bigger* than the NASCAR boxes.

This also means Power has a proper chance to screw it up.

I was going to make a completely terrible suggestion about Kimball hanging back to take Helio out.  Got the wrong guys!

Especially when there have been low speed deaths in Indy car. We saw today the violent power of the cars at Spa at low speeds. Going unde the rear tire even wearing a helmet could kill you. ZIdiot tire guy!

Briscoe got a drive-through for the Kimball incident.

Looks like Saavedra took himself out? I don't think Davison did anything unusual there.

He lost it last year in pretty ridiculous (if Penske-inflicted) circumstances

Welp, sucks for the championship, but at least Power has won. RHR recovers well. Simona gets a top 10, could be better but she had terrible pace when she was on reds and the rest of guys on blacks, that's when she should have made time, but didn't.

Also, Indycar continues to be the craziest sport that I follow. But that's why we love it, right?

What a bunch of dumbasses.

Mid-Ohio was 100% clean, and it's not really any easier to pass there than here. Still, the series has a black eye thanks to the restart\turn 7 incidents.

Nah Dixon's at fault here, I'm convinced after this replay - look at where his rear tyres are, and where the crewman was when he was changing the tyre. **** it, I don't like it, but that's how it is

(BB pretty much said that)

I don't think Dixon was this annoyed when Viso took him out at Edmonton in 2011.

That's what I'm thinking. What Barfield says makes sense, but only if there are clear and distinct pit boxes. He says IndyCar doesn't paint their own lines on pit road, so if it's just a sign on the wall it seems kinda vague. Apparently there are hash marks on the ground?

BB has a good case. However, he should still look and see if the tireguy followed his normal pit routine and even then the tireguy showed a lack of respect for the other team.
