Car so far in qualifying seems reasonable.

Q3 will certainly be interesting 'for sure'

Massa have a shot for the pole, and they pit him while Alonso was faster than his time. It's STUPID. Montezemolo have to fire them all.

It was Alonsos mistake. He screwed up his first timed lap in q3. He would have had time to start another lap if he wouldn't had let Kimi past.

Why they ask to Massa to pit ? Alonso was faster than Massa time and they knew it. With Alonso mistake, Massa was the only option available to the first two row. Now we are 9 and 10; grande job grande

How did Hamilton, Webber and Vettel find time to do a final run when conditions were better in the final dying secs?

What would be different if Alonso did not make a mistake? I think he still wouldn't have enoguh time for another lap. He went out on the track last, that was the problem

Very poor strategy but the car is damn good. Definitely much better in relation to the others and arguably the best car this weekend. Depends on how things go tomorrow but a good result is possible.

I think Alonso made a mistake in his first attemp costing him valuable seconds to have one final try.

Team or Alonso?

I yelled at the TV change the tires right away and go out... but no, they decided to wait some more time in the pits... also, when the rain started at the beginning of Q3 they were last in the pit lane to go out... Poor poor strategy... also why pit Massa?

If the team had got it right, Massa would not have been out-qualified by Alonso.

wrong, Alonso's last attempt when positions himself in p3 by that time he had plenty of time to do another lap. I still don't understand why they cruise back to the pits

Agree that he made a mistake and with hindsight a big one. But by the time it didn't look like it would stop rainning, so the latter time to make the lap, the worse.

He did a mistake in the first flying, and in the second one he ended 5th. But nobody could foresee that suddenly it would stop rainning and the ones who managed one extra lap would have better conditions, because it looked like the opposite of that. So it was a driving mistake exaggerated by luck.

Edit: Also it is true that if Ferrari had put the cars on track earlier, maybe he wouldn't have pushed as hard, which could have contributed to the mistake.

Alonso would not have enough time for another lap even if he didn't make a mistake. IIRC he was right in front of Kimi before his mistake and Kimi did not have enough time for another lap, so most probably Alonso wouldn't have enough time as well.

He was in front of Kimi after making the mistake. Before, he was right behind Vettel.

Alonso was guilty today, he was in front of Kimi who missed out on last lap by 2 seconds.

if it is true then his slow time in attempt 1 was the contributing factor.. But why did Kimi also did just two attempts ? I will re-watch again they are showing it at noon here .

He missed it by a mile! Like 5/6 seconds! His mistake did not carry that amount of time.

So much easier to watch Ferrari's mistakes when you have no hope of winning the championship.  :p

Best opportunity for a race win and of course Ferrari and Alonso manage to mess it up - Spaghetti Ferrari back in full force.

What a pity Alonso didn't have that last try (and Massa wrongly pitted), but the F138 seems to have genuine pace in all conditions here, if tomorrow the race is like today (changing conditions), everything is still possible...

Cheers! ;-)

His first timed lap was 10+ seconds off pole that's a lot of time...

But it was bad luck, if it continued raining for two minutes more, we would be writing about the RB bad timing instead...

The lap he made a mistake was 10+ seconds slower. So yes, without the mistake he would have time to do a third lap.

His sector was 40.1, other people were doing mid 33s in that sector
