On a Porsche Excellnce (magazine) website (http://www.excellenc...rn-light?page=4   ) there is a good story about how a Redondo Beach CA restoration shop back in 1991 bought a Carrera Abarth No. 1008 , from the creditors of Hans Thulin, a Swedish industrialist. I was wondering, since the story says that there were two other bidders, what the price reached when it was sold? (if you can convert to USD, that would help me understand it). Also I assume the car was restored and was it then sold at a major auction?

I think Thulin also owned one of the Bugatti Royales, maybe some creditor is still trying to sell that.

Looking forward to any clues about how the car got sold,

thanks

I'm very interested in the collection of Hans Thulin as he had some interesting cars.  One of them, a March 761, was of unknown origins and I can't think of any way to find out where he got it from.  Has anyone figured out who managed the collection or anyone who might have additional information?

Allen,

The Thulin affair was over 15 years ago as I recall, even though apparently there are still some loose ends.  Nick Harley (UK) was buying cars for Thulin (a car I had owned went to Thulin via Harley).  After this time I have no idea where Harley is, or what he might remember.
