It is a mind game by Sutil. Who knows he will get lucky with some MGP telemetry data, or he's hoping for Lewis to go bonkers once he unfollows him.

I don't understand this Ferrari way of trying to give Alonso a tow. Didn't they complain about dirty air in 2006 for ruining Massa's lap and FIA penalized Alonso for that?

The irony is almost too much. As a result Alonso said he would never drive for the Red team. The only thing that hasn't changed is his bad mouthing of the SF.

At least Kimi is starting from clean side of the track this time. It feels like he has been very unlucky with respect to that, not counting the first race.

 

In monaco he did get to start from "the clean side" but apparently that doesnt matter so much in Monaco. Elsewhere I think he either qualified to the dirty side or if he did qualify to clean side then someone ahead of him had a penalty that awarded Kimi the dirty side of the track. (I´m just sayiing this on a gut feeling here but I guess you can check whether Im right or not about this.)

I'm not sure whether it means or how significant this is but what nobody seems to have mentioned is what the atmosphere was at Ferrari prior to the radio message being leaked were. I can't post a link but just after Q3 was over, Crofty and Brundle went down to Ted and he said the only person in the Ferrari garage smiling was Rob Smedley.

Kravitz also said that he was told by a Ferrari personnel that no media person ask LdM any questions at this moment in the suggestion that he was in a very bad mood. But I took that as having to do with the result of the team.

Sorry for Hamilton, and it's typical that he takes all the blame himself. Yes, he was off at Parabolica, but all the fastest laps were set at the last run in Q2 and that's when he came upon Sutil.... would've been through otherwise. Wonder how much performance the damaged floor cost? With Rosberg four tenths off, with all the problems he's had, I think second or third could've been possible for Hamilton.

 

Sensational lap from Hülkenberg, but it's also a case of track meets car, and the match is great. Sauber also picked up some pace with the new tires.

Massa and Alonso then beaten by a Ferrari-engined Sauber. I don't think Alonso did his job really; got the tow all around as Ferrari catered for him, but then he get's outqualified by Massa who got a tow from Webber!

 

Good job again from Ricciardo. Surprised he could turn it around with Vergne, 'cause he was looking consistently quicker.

Decent work from McLaren, but I thought they'd have one car higher up. Same with Williams, and definitely Lotus.

Cause he was to blame yesterday? He drove erratic quali. His Q2 runs were horrible. Damage floor didn't help the case, for sure. But his driving yesterday was simply bad compared to his standard great runs.

Not really. He had one bad corner in Q2. Rest was traffic. 3/4 laps.

95% of the time, Hamilton takes all the blame himself, and it isn't his responsibility in 95% of the cases, why things turned out bad. 

What happened in Q2 was unfortunate, but as I said, all the best times were set at the end, and that's when Sutil held up Hamilton, completely screwing up his lap. The time he would've set on the lap he was off, wouldn't have mattered anyway I think, as times set then were generally too slow.

Yeah, I also thought that Alonso wasn't on his mark yesterday. Earlier I thought he failed to get tow for the final run. But later by his own admission, he did get the tow from Massa. Also he set his Q2 time at the beginning of the session and as you say others improved a lot in the final runs, even from the penultimated to the last run in the final set of runs. But all Alonso managed to improve from 3 minutes into Q2 to the final seconds in Q3 is just a tenth, while others had much more. Not trying to nit-pick on Alonso. But just trying to point out instances where Alonso's underperformance goes unnoticed just because he has a teammate like Massa. To me, as much as Ferrari tried to mess things up with towing and Alonso getting upset at various things with Ferrari, the bottomline is he himself did not do a good job yesterday. Just one look at the braking and exit of the chicane after Curva Grande would tell you.

Alonso's qualifying has been mediocre for a while. Doesn't get picked up on because most people put it down to the car.

So the only drivers who ever had a hope of competing with Vettel are 5th, 6th, 11th and 12th. Just embarrassing.

I know. But it will make for an interesting midfield tomorrow. Red Bull are probably laughing how they got their 50th pole without trying.
