So we are under 12 hours to go...and I´m starting this here.

Normally it´s the shortest GP in calendar, in terms of time, just about 80 minutes. But this time weather might play a role...rain is expected on morning and on afternoon with some thunderstorms also.

Last time it rained here in 08 and Sebastian claimed his maiden win.

In dry conditions it is quite clear that Red Bulls are in their own league. Ferrari, Merc and Lotus praises for some rain which
will mix up the field...

And what about Torro Rosso and Nico? Could they repeat their qualifying performance?

Alot will depend on the weather, and on what guesses were made about raceday, when the Q set-ups were determined.

Based on projected radar image, it looks like rain is on its way late afternoon. After Spa let down, wouldn't get my hopes up for rain at the start. Best we are going to get might be a green track.

80% chance of precipitation at 2.00pm.

The front runners would definitely prefer a dry condition while the rest on the grid is praying for some rain.

Bring in moderate rain! I would like to see some crazy action after the most boring race ever Spa. Best would be changing weather, that would be nice gamble and maybe we could see someone else at the top than finger boy. What about first corner? Many has driven that wide, big speed and tight braking. Maybe big crash right away. Kimi and Lewis are right there were bad things happen at start. Hoping some crazy overtake by Hulk at the start. :smoking:

7,5hours to go!

A wet race would be great.  A dry Monza is one of the more boring races on the calender for me.  Even Monaco, I find more interesting.  Mainly because I love the circuit and it's constant corners.  Monza is just watching cars drive straight a lot of the time.  And the one stop strategies with tyre wear make it even worse.  A wet race would be fantastic.

Yeah, three whole races without the safety car would be silly.

Race behind safety car is big no. INTER could be good.

Mercedes said he damaged his floor when he hit the kerb and that was factor in his poor performance in Q2.

They should be allowed to break parc ferme because of damage, yes.

can the runners outside the top 10 adjust downforce levels? Certainly the top 10 can't ?

Guess it will be red flagged if they have to use WETS. Remember Malaysia 2012(agreed this was really heavy rain) or the Silverstone Q 2012.

If not red flagged it will, as you said, be driven behind the SC.

I don't think anyone can besides adding turns of front wing, they're all in parc ferme. Only the ridiculous q3 tyre rule is top 10 exclusive. The problem parc ferme causes regarding the race and quali having different conditions, is that they can't raise the ride height etc that a true wet setup would entail.

No guarantee of rain at any point. Still to the N/W of Monza. Could be a bone dry race with rain only falling post race or full wet all race or something in between the two. I'd like a heavy (but not so heavy for sc/red flag) shower for about 20mins after maybe 20 laps and then drying up late on

No one can't if they are starting on the grid, but they can if they want to start from the pit-lane!

Ian Fergusson, one of the meteorologists the BBC uses is a keen F1 fan. And when he's not giving the weather for the South West on our regional TV, gives F1 weather updates. The latest, as of 20 minutes (or so) ago:

"Grey skies loom over #Monza #BBCF1 live race on @bbcone at 12.10 pic.twitter.com/B0VaBeDFq2" ...but dry on radar, at least for now!"

Yeah bit disappointed to see rain is only a possibility

Fegusson was saying the other day that the air temperature needs to hit 24C for the clouds release rain.  Currently forecast to be about 23C later...

I am watching Race 2 of GP3 now, and it is cloudy but does not look too threatening. But the race is still 4 hours away.

I don't see anybody but Vettel winning the race. Maybe Alonso can split Red Bulls and catch a second place, that's it.

Mixed weather is always fun. Trying to find that point to switch to dries/inters in always interesting. Don't think we've ever seen that at Monza. Hoping for that.

I'm also hoping for a wet race but tbh I doubt it'll happen.

GP2 sprint race about to start and weather looks fine although slightly overcast.

A bit of rain during GP2

Might be about to get interesting :p

Just a short shower, it only slowed the laps by a couple of seconds.  It's passed now

all those folks hoping for rain will get disappointed when vettel will lead from the front ahead of the spray like he did in 2008, fact is, that RBR is good come rain or shine.

the only possibility of having a cracker of a race is if we have changeable conditions, i.e wet and then dry or vice versa. in that case, the transition point makes the race a lottery and tire gambling will spice things up (specially for drivers like JB and FA)

I am with you on this one, eronrules, Vettel will probably win regardless of conditions, but hell...I am longing to see a wet race finally this season.

i hope for a dry race. These days, with SC, they are no real wet race.

If it's dry, Alonso will won this race.

I believe it's here that Murray Walker once shouted: "and we have a red flag! red flag! the race has been stopped". James Hunt coming in "I'm sorry Murray, but I'm sure that's just a Ferrari flag being waved".
