The problem is it was the same team whose decisions guided Vettel to those 3 WDC's, that was being slighted. You can argue that the order should not have been given, but once given should have been obeyed. Given Webber's position with the team, there must have been some valid reason for telling Seb to hold position, or do you think that Horner, Newey and the others are just idiots and Seb won 3 WDCs despite them. It will be interesting to see how people react if at some point Vettel needs to nurse the car home and Webber is in a position for payback. Will you be in favour of the team ordering him to hold position then?
Thanks for your considered response.
RBR was a midfield team until Vettel arrived. Newey has always been a genius. Horner is not an idiot - he is a very smart man who knows how to handle drivers since he was one himself, just not talented enough to get to F1.
Dieter has decided that there will be no more team orders. Vettel won two of his three WDC's by a small margin - seven points is a big deal. And I won't be surprised if Vettel, a la Schumacher, tosses a victory to Webber later this year.
Vettel has his way of winning. It is boring to some: get in front with a comfortable margin and then bring it home. So I thought it was a good race but I accept that my thoughts differ from others.
