Hope it is announced soon before it loses it impact, lest it becomes just a mere formality/'worst kept secret' etc...

Yeah reminds me of Ricci to RB. At the end there weren´t much that cared about it.

Good luck to Kimi and I hope he is given a fair shot alongside Alonso. I can't imagine Kimi signing a contract unless he was given that type of assurance. It'll be the strongest driver pairing to emerge since 2007 IMO. Looking forward to it already

I believe Kimi wants to wait for one of the Robertsons get better from his Cancer threatment in USA.

I believe this could be the reason too.

Why is this taking so long?

I think they are busy discussing how to draw up the contracts. They just realised that the last contracts without any No. 1 driver terms were written in 1993.
