Finally the news is out and it's official, Kimi will be driving for Ferrari in 2014.

 

Exciting to see that Ferrari has gone for two roosters in the hen house and given us all the opportunity of seeing two great champions and popular drivers going head to head.  Could this be the most exciting driver pairing for 2014?

 

Alonso:Raikkonen

32 v 20 wins

93 v 75 podiums

22 v 16 poles

2 v 1 WDC's

 

Bearing in mind two years out or 38 races for Kimi during which they will have taken chunks of stats out of each other and IMO they look pretty evenly matched.

 

Please keep the discussion clean.  Please do not discuss Santander or pay drivers or bring up any of the other silliness from when Alonso replaced Kimi originally.  Please discuss what you think of this news and how you expect things to progress.

 

There is no head to head performance to analyse so any attempt to suggest that one will 'destroy' the other really is just trolling.

Yes, finally revealed!

 

I can't wait to see if the Ferrari is good next year, I really can't. With Alonso and Raikkonen driving for them, Ferrari is more or less guaranteed to receive more attention than any other team next season. This could be a VERY fun rivalry to watch, and I know that a lot of us have wanted this particular match-up for many years now. Bring on 2014, it's going to be exciting to see these two go head to head!

 

Also, if Ferrari develops a real rocket for next year, Ferrari may be almost unstoppable in the WCC battle. Alonso and Raikkonen can always be depended on to collect tons of points and, together, most certainly form the strongest driver pairing on the grid.
