"Robert" Smedley makes him sound like a guy from a different era of F1, like he was a young guy in the 60s when everyone else in the sport was old and proper.

"I say Reginald, did you hear the news? It seems the young Yorkshire upstart Robert Smedley has been taken on by Scuderia Ferrari to hold pit signs over the wall for von Trips"

Love this! lol

Pinkham saying Crofty has called his shot - Smedley, Massa and Brawn all going to Williams. Is it true?

Not friendly to Britons either, just ask Nigel Mansell and Damon Hill.

not friendly for Belgians either: just ask Patrick Nève and Thierry Boutsen!

That makes sense if Wolff and Brawn decide to swap their shares [William vs. Mercedes].

Nicolas Todt [Massa's agent] also always wanted to buy a F1 team.

Just wanted to pinpoint that Williams is hard on everybody [Frentzen, Webber, Schumacher, etc], not just Brazilians ane even Britons.

Its not very savy to mistreat your most important employee[s]. After all a company is all about employees.

Like Ferrari, at Williams they think the team is more important than any one employee.

Brawn doesn't have any shares to swap.

 I stand corrected, thanks.

Yes, its Merc+Wolff+Lauda.

Anyway Wolff could transfer/sell his shares to Brawn in some form of indemnity to leave Mercedes.

Nothing against Massa but I think the other Felipe (Nasr) would be a better choice for Williams

This would be the perfect time for him to entry F1. He would be up there (in a way) learning and adapting with everyone else about the next year's changes.

Found this info about Wurz interesting:

Smedley is rumoured to be considering a return to the UK to take up a senior operational engineering role with the Grove based team.

Sorry James, can you remind us what Alex Wurz’s role is now?
