He isn't slower 2s.

I believe that maybe the back is really painful.

it´s surely, I have had back problems few times and sometimes it hurts so much that can hardly move, the more you stay without moving, the more it hurts.

Title is still possible (hardly likely) and it's in Kimi's nature to not give up no matter what. I still think he can do well.

Jee. Title is possible only on paper. They shouldn't risk to make it worse. It doesn't matter will he drive or not - he won't get points anyway.

Was this ironic? What did they do the car since yesterday? He had lost so much pace.

If what it's been told it's true, they have not done anything to the car but the driver. He's injured

It seems Valsecchi has admitted Italian TV he was already getting ready to take part in qualy when they decided Räikkönen would try to drive anyway

Grandpa Kimi showing signs of age? Well nah, this is the same problem as when he started out rallying in 2010 isn't it?

Btw great that Lotus even doesn't mention Kimi's back problem - surely Gro looks much better when is beating a healthy teammate.

well he is in the team still. If he is capable of driving, and he probably is. Why shouldn't he drive?

Apparently Kimi's seat was fitted incorrectly yesterday, he hit a big curb hard and injured his back. He obviously already had back issues so this was just re-injury.

I have to agree with that

I don't know what Boullier said, I'm watching RTL :p

Well, if the reserve driver is called to get ready the thing must be a big deal. Unless what's really going on is something totally different, of course...

Kimi´s back problems are because of 2005 barcelona test hit, since than Kimi has had some pain in the back.

Actually, the problems are much more older than that. Rallying brought it into the public knowledge, but as far as I know, this is all caused by a nasty accident he suffered in Magny Course many years ago

Edit: Vesuvious says it's Barcelona. Probably he's right, I have a pretty bad memory for those things :)

Ok, pace now improving dramatically with this scrubbed set.  There is a hope.

EDIT: Lets see it compared to RoGro, it seems everyone is improving as much.

Why shouldn't he drive?

Because he could hurt his back even more? Should I repeat 3rd time this simple thought?

It is on Autosport page even now.

And nothing in Lotus twitter.

Yes, there was something right before qualifying started:

It's a bumpy old' track so a bit of back pain for our man, but that won't keep #Kimi away from the track

It was said on the twitter.

He is team's driver. if he is capable of driving he will drive, that much is clear.

well it is a mix of both I believe. Shitty track for Kimi, and Supersofts were never working for him actually.

elt's see what Grosjean is capable of

no traffic. but clearly he just didn´t get enough out of the new tyres, he did 1,44,7 with old tyres and 1,44,6 with new, it has always been like that with Kimi-supersofts and singapore is pretty bad track for Kimi, huge back problems and car problems don´t help.

Lotus twitter is irreverent, they always take everything lightly.

Is this enough?

Unlucky for some, P13 for #Kimi, brave effort with a bad back, physio n massage time till tomorrow #ExplicitContent pic.twitter.com/9yQDpCrI92

You can only excuse him if this was because of back pains.Everything else would be unacceptable as he is rated as top driver. Grosjean could be 3rd, lets see what he has in his sleeve.

if? seriously do you have experience about back pain? and in a f1 car on a bumpy circuit it´s a much more horrible than you can even imagine. Kimi also lost 0,6 to Romain last year and 2008 he was clearly slower than Felipe so singapore over one lap, is not his track.

Raikkonen In Back Pain Fitness Scare
21 September 2013

oubZ0G3.jpg

The Finn complained of back pain during Friday's running, and his situation worsened in the final practice session, which he ended 12th overall.

Lotus had been concerned enough to start getting reserve driver Davide Valsecchi ready just in case he was needed to step in.

It is thought that Raikkonen's issue has been caused by a trapped nerve.

No one said that, most said that it was due to nature of a track and pain. Though thanks god that you and similar people will disappear from here next year. But sadly due to such fanbase I somehow, somewhere deep within my silly soul, hope that next year Ferrari will be total shit. Though Alonso and Kimi both deserves top car.

well RG will be Nr1 driver next year. He has talent no doubts about it, and it seems that he ironed his mistakes compared to last year.

I hope that Kimi does not race tomorrow and I'm saying this as a hardcore Kimi fan. Health is much more important than any race or profession in general. Once you are injured your body needs time, time, time and there is no way around it.

Is a onestopper possible here? Surely with a big chance of a SC he could save his tyres.

I am also wondering if Kimi should actually race. This is a street circuit one small late reaction and you are going to hit a wall, and that would not be good.

if it´s possible, it will possible for Kimi/Lotus...at least they will maybe must try to do 1 stop less tomorrow than others, it could be the only chance to get some good points.

"BBC F1's Tom Clarkson reports that Lotus say Kimi Raikkonen's seat wasn't fitted properly and he hit a kerb quite hard yesterday which caused the problem with his back."
