Alonso was booed at Interlagos last year, and to make things worse, he had just lost a world title. I don't remember Alonso making a big fuss about it like Horner is doing.

 

I don't promote the booing of Vettel, but unlike some people, I don't consider it to be criminal either. A lot of the boos are Vettel's own doing.

Sorry, I don't see it this way. Seb has become more and more obnoxious. The trio of Horner, Marko and Vettel have just displayed no humility and class - Just compare their behavior to any of the other teams that have won a lot.

 

 

Seb's 1) actions and statements on the Multi-21 affair, 2) stating that other teams don't work as hard as them (though his words were much worse) are just two major examples how he is as bad as Marko and Horner. Nevermind, showing disregard and thumbing your nose at your competitors, these guys have been instrumental in doing the same to their teammate. A lot of people feel bad for Webber for having to endure these guys.

 

That's where all the booing comes from, not from Alonso throwing his hat

Totally agreed with this. Sebastian's and Red Bull's dislike comes mainly from their methodology. There are reasons for such boos and its universal around most races they visit. You hardly see Messi getting booed at anyone else besides Madrid. People admire him generally everywhere. Success doesn't always bring boos, it's the behaviour and actions with success that create these sort of reaction from the public. Somewhat Seb and Red Bull haven't done so well. And honestly, Horner and Marko are just stirring the plot with the recent booing, provoking Alonso as 'F1 devils'

I think it was in context: the reporter asked him(something like this: ) if he heard that before the race Senna said that he wanted Alonso to win, and then they collided, then Vettel laughs it off, and says the upper line jokingly.

I don't think one needs to look very hard when having things like those declarations.

 

Considering their hero Ayrton Senna won 71% of his races from pole position, you'd expect them to be cheering for that.

 

Well Senna also had Prost as a team mate, and an era when you could set up the car only for qualifying. So I'm sorry, it's not the same.

Over the TV it appeared that the crowd was pretty cheerful yesterday and not as hostile towards Vettel as some of the forumers here expected. Anybody standing in the crowd witnessing the same thing?

It is more like when Red Bull found ways not to compromise qualifying for race pace, via manual height adjustement in parc ferme cleaning the car or engine maps, they are not playing on a level field anymore.

In a car that is probably the best, is it harder to win title in 1988 against Alain Prost, than it would be for a driver in 2013 taking on Mark Webber, the answer is a clear yes. But, I am not sure what that has to do with Seb getting booed to a great degree.

 

Its needless to compare every driver on the standard of Senna or Prost, different era, different circumstances.

Does he get booed at Madrid? The problem for Seb is that while Messi only has to encounter larger numbers of rivaling Madrid fans in Madrid, Vettel's rival's fans are present at every single F1 event he participates.

Exactly. The equivalent would be if Barcelona and Real Madrid were travelling around the world playing a match each week in a different country and someone was saying "see, Messi gets booed everywhere, the whole world hates him" when obviously there would be Real fans everywhere and it would merely be a different part of the same group of fans doing the booing. And in case of travelling fans, potentially some of the same people as well.

 

And btw, whoever thinks Messi is only booed in Madrid needs to watch more Spanish football.
