I'm a Muse fan as well as a F1 fan and somehow come across this interview and thought I should post this here. Basically the lead singer was saying he had talks about possibly writing a song for formula 1 when at Silverstone a couple of years back. They are also playing at F1 rocks in Abu Dhabi this year.

 

Last two questions are relevant.

Sounds interesting, might of been cheesy but sometimes it does work. Two good F1 related songs are Just Drive - Alistair Griffin and Faster - George Harrison

But I loved Moby "Lift me up" they used on ITV F1.

 

Chain will always be the classic though, and I love Just Drive.

i dunno about the 'official theme' rumors , but off the current F1 TV themes that are used by different broadcasters for their shows (i.e sky, bbc, setanta etc), i deffo like the setanta's intro song the most (artist - theo and the red bits)

 

 

however ... if i had the power, then i'd put this song as the official theme in a heartbit

from NFS high stakes ... rom di prisco - paradigm shifter (specially from 1:40 onwards ... eargasm  )

 

 

and from NFS Hot pursuit 2 ... Hot Action Cop - going down on it (NFS version)

If you want to talk about Muse then Supermassive black hole is definitely worth a consideration

 

 

Personally I think Justice - Genesis is the track that would suit F1 perfectly. It has a badass theatrical start with a fast-paced chorus. 

 

 

ITV used this in 2007 for the championship showdown promo between Alonso, Kimi and Hamilton. It was epic to say the least.

both these songs will be good for pre shows/montages , IIRC they've used some Rammstein music in BBC for showing montages on rivalries
