Why does new users get into a probation status?

And when will it end?

Mats, I think the reason you haven't been answered is because people weren't sure what you are asking, JForce is just joking.

Are you saying that your Father is not allowed to post because he is classified as a probationer? If that's the case, possibly something isn't working correctly. As far as I knew, new members could post immediately after registration. You've been around for a while, so I am sure that you know how to contact a mod, they are all perfectly reasonable people and will answer your question directly.

MatsNorway We have people wander into Chat from time to time who are in a between state. They have done the signup and then missed the email that confirms the signup and gives them full status when they reply to it. Have your Dad check his Spam/Junk filters. He should have received the email.

If you don't respond to the confirmation e-mail you won't get access to the forum.

 

AFAIK once registered your status is "Probation" after a certain number of posts you get "New Member" and then after that it's "Member", These change automatically based on number of posts though I have no idea what the amounts are.

The probation period of 5 posts was with the old software, now it starts at New Member although I don't know how long that is for.
