Just wondering who may be on here [besides yours truly] who drove in the 1963 race? :wave:

I'm proud to have played a very small part in the class win by these great blokes;

And I'm sad that neither of the drivers and neither of  the mechanics are with us today.  :(

I remember well where I was that day, too...

Swinging my mother's 35mm camera about and watching the race from every point around the mountain.

I remember the drive up to Bathurst from Sydney, flat out all the way along the Bells Line of Road ,and faster coming home. MGA, Valiant R Series manual, AH Bug Eye, Holden FX with a few quick bits, and a couple of others I can't recall at the moment, were among the group.
The race itself fell to pieces when the Holden S4's failed and from then on it became a boring spread out procession. There was no way the race would be repeated in 64, but it was an interesting experiment. I even threw away my program for 63, but have every one from 64 on.
YLittle did we know, but I was there again the next year and the following 40 odd without fail. I'll admit I still watch on TV but it certainly isn't the same now as it was in the later 60's through to the 70's, 80's and 90's.
