Four and a half hours or so to go until FP1, munchies & cold drinks are in and the sofa is booked.
Will there be stormy weather ? More Testicular Talk ? When Webber broke his leg did he receive the full benefit of traction ?

I'm not working tomorrow and thought that I'll be finally able to watch FP1 and FP2... Then I remembered it's the Asian part of the season now and FP1 starts at 3 AM here.
Posted 03 October 2013 - 20:59
FP1 starts at 3 AM here so I will watch it and then go to bed...
Posted 03 October 2013 - 21:02
I'm off for 2 weeks It's 02:00 AM and 06:00 AM here in the UK, dont know whether i'll stay the course but i intend giving it a go, providing of course its not to badly weather affected.
Posted 03 October 2013 - 21:12
Ill be up for the sessions, might skip the first 30 mins of FP1 as there is never any running.
Posted 03 October 2013 - 21:13
Meh, going to bed. Will only stay up for qualifying and the race...
Posted 03 October 2013 - 21:15
let it rain ... (slightly, drizzle will be good, not torrential rain though, specially in the qualy and race)

I want torrential rain, chaos, mayhem, safety cars, and wet balls.

Any helpful motivation for the weekend people? I haven't felt so utterly uninterested in a race for at least a year...

I think this thing is japanese thing, and korea dont have.
btw put upside down if pray for rain

Normally I'd stay up for this no problem, but not sure about this time.

I LOVE my bed

Maybe just ignore Vettel?
Should be a good fight between the Ferraris/Lotuses/Mercedes
Can Grosjean continue his strong form? Can Rosberg get on top of Hamilton again
Posted 04 October 2013 - 00:50
got the day off tmrw so nothing better to do but watch...
but meh, the total domination of RB has dampened my excitement for any of the GPs left this year. Thank God footie has become interesting again

Well, weather looks very good, bright and dry Track temp 28, Air Temp 20, wind 1.1mps
Pit lane looks weird at first glance. Looks to be a massive bump in it, that'll do Kimi the world of good

The pit exit is shocking, its not unlike a roller coaster with a kerb running across it

Oh yeah, that sucks for him
The track and location looks quite cool with how sunny it is , I remembered it as always quite grey
Posted 04 October 2013 - 01:19
Yeah it looks really bright, can even see the sun glinting off the Marussia!

Rodolfo Gonzalez is the track janitor of the day.

Was, front wing gone.
Posted 04 October 2013 - 01:23
Gonzalez not impressing to be honest!
Was looking messy even before the crash
Posted 04 October 2013 - 02:30
Oh look, something happened.

It is going to be a busy next few hours for Lotus mechanics to get that car ready for FP2.
Posted 04 October 2013 - 02:35
Can they fix that in time? 2h 30m to go.
Posted 04 October 2013 - 02:36
Good session for Mercedes
Maybe they won't be quicker in quali but will at least be there to take pole if Vettel makes mistakes
Posted 04 October 2013 - 02:38
Hopefully they'll have her up and ready for FP2. Kimi walking it off was a good sight.
Posted 04 October 2013 - 02:44
Hope they can get the car ready in time for FP2!

Did the RB's do their quickest time on 20+ lap old tyres?
Posted 04 October 2013 - 02:45
Did the RB's do their quickest time on 20+ lap old tyres?
Vettel did. Mark one and a half tenths off his best on the last run.
Posted 04 October 2013 - 03:14
Did the RB's do their quickest time on 20+ lap old tyres?
They did, but there weren't that many quick laps in those 20
Not that I'm saying RB are struggling for pace..
Also Hamilton's best splits were 3 tenths quicker

Nooo ... not now kimi ... ... que in 'have you lost motivation' or 'deliberate crash not to drive' ... BS from the journos ...
Frak the car, i could care less, but HOW IS HIS BACK??? i'm yet to watch the FP1 (waiting for DL)
Posted 04 October 2013 - 03:35
Damn, I missed FP1!!! . For some reason I was thinking of a 'kind to the European audience' late start as we saw in Singapore, forgetting that Korea isn't an evening/night race.

Kimi and his car are both fine and able to drive at FP2 according to MTV3..hopefully the accident didn´t have anything to do with the new longer wheelbase, as we know it didn´t pass safety/crash tests for weeks.
Posted 04 October 2013 - 05:22
hmm, RB normally come out in FP2 and blitz it
Mercedes might be in a fight for pole.. let's wait to see SS runs though

btw, anyone ... how the weather holding up??? sorry as i'm still waiting for torrents/DL to become available
Posted 04 October 2013 - 05:25
Saturday looks dry, and Sunday's forecast is different depending on the weather model
So chance of rain, chance of dry for Sunday I think
Posted 04 October 2013 - 05:28
From an aesthetic point of view I think the track looks great. On mediums it is very close between Merc and Bulls.

yes he and Romain both did.

Because it's too mainstream to run supersofts; Vettel won't even bother..
Wait, now he is on supersofts with a 1.38.781.
