According to AMuS Prodromorouro will be joined by his number 2 at macca.
Apparently there was a bit of a disagreement in the RB design office and this the result.
Who could be his number two? Could this guy be Rob Marshall?
Even if it is not Rob, It is good news for McLaren.

Red Bull says there are no plans to allow McLaren-bound chief aerodynamicist Peter Prodromou to leave the team before his contract runs out at the end of next year
Related, I was reading Joe Saward the other day when I came across this little nugget.
The Reb Bullies are trying to make out that Prodromou cannot start at Woking until 2015. That is pure bull. It is a magnificent irony, but no F1 aerodynamicist can be kept out of the market for more than six months because that would effect their ability to work in F1. That ruling dates back about 15 years to when a Mr Newey applied to the court in order to escape from Williams to work with McLaren…
(No Reb Bullies is not my nickname. Neat though.)

According to autosport it was Prodromourouro who approached macca, not the other way around, he even knocked on the WIlliams door.
Well, the dreamteam isn't so dreamy after all.
And for Whitmarsh to be boasting about this, lol, pathetic...

Well, in a twist of events Pete changed his mind.
It's looking like Pete does not want to work under Dennis, now that MW has been sidelined?

How on earth could you know that?
Perhaps Red Bull are shoving a humongous pile of money at him?

Bryne I doubt. He's a South African, some of the biggest patriots of their flags and successes.
He's loyal to Ferrari as was the other South African, Gordon Murray loyal to McLaren.
Didn't sound that way in his own words in the Sky interview. I'd say he was more loyal to Brabham, to the point of turning down multiple Lotus contracts paying extremely well.
When he was begged to join McLaren, he said OK, but only for 3 seasons, because he wanted to do something else than F1 after 20 years. He was off to designing road cars by 1991. For McLaren admittedly, but likely only because they offered him the job.
I don't think it's accurate to say someone is loyal to a marque 'because they're South African' either.

I cannot imagine it's just about money.
It's very possible that Prodromou changed his mind after the change of leadership at Mclaren as he was hired by Whitmarsh.

Didn't he leave Mclaren in the past because he didn't like Ron's work ethics.

I don't see how he could base his decision to leave RB purely of reason to work under Martin management only. And i suppose it couldn't be because of Ron too because he anyway would not work directly under him but Boullier.
The way i see it could be Reb Bull just now realise how much trouble can his exit cause, especially in this case where they'd have to put him away from current project so he won't be able to help fixing somewhat ill-born car, and offer him much more money?
Posted 04 February 2014 - 12:46
It certainly could be because of Ron, seems that's why he left in the first place.
Posted 04 February 2014 - 12:49
Just as MW had started to get things back together in comes ego Ron to fk it all up again.

But is this known for a fact, or is this how those "internet truths" come about?
I'm not saying it isn't true, I'm just asking if there is some actual evidence to it?

Most importantly, their highly rated head of aerodynamics, Peter Prodromou, has signed for McLaren. "We've yet to decide what to do with Peter's job but we've got 12 months to think about that before he leaves," says Horner. "He's fully focused on the current car."

I don't know about you, but the most important motivation for me to go and work somewhere depends on the management. The people you have to report to. Prodromou would obviously get a senior technical management role and you need confidence in and a good working relationship with those at the top. It's very much up in the air at mclaren at the moment and Prodromou may have gotten cold feet.
Posted 04 February 2014 - 13:21
well if I was Merc of Ferrari I'd be in there with a big offer right about now.

Yes, thats for sure. All i'm saying is he shouldn't be concerned about Dennis being a McLaren Group CEO once again. I don't think he is having much time dealing with Mateschitz at RB and i expect this sort of involvement from Ron also. That he will do is just put the right people he expects would get the job done. And it's not in the air at the top - it's pretty clear he will report to Boullier. Whether that is Eric behind problem i don't know. I actually is yet to believe those rumors because it's rare thing to change mind in space of 3 three months especially if it's just something personal.

Big organisational changes going on at McLaren and maybe Prodromou was in agreement with MWs vision, while he's not with RDs vision. All speculation but it's reason enough for anyone to rethink their move, especially as he's not being forced out of RedBull.
Posted 04 February 2014 - 14:39
No where in James Allen's article does it say that PP wants to stay at RB, it says that RB are desperate to keep him. The idea that he has changed his mind because of Ron is pure speculation, it is equally possible that RB think they are in a lot of trouble this year and want to keep one of it's star men so have offered him a lot more oney. No one knows...
