Is there a list of all of the drivers' weights or can anyone post any reliable sources?

VET: 63.52

ALO: 681

HAM: 712

HUL: 741,2

DIR: 742

BUT: 741

WEB: 752

SUT: 822

If you can add some with sources it would be most appreciated!

** This list will be updated with any additional cited information.

No way Vettel weighs 63,5. He is taller than both Ham and Alo and he is definitely not as light as Contador.

In all the coverage of car weights for next year, I've seen Button listed from 70 to 74kg. That's quite a difference...

64 kilos should be correct for Vettel. Skinny guy!

There you can also find all the other drivers' weight and height.  :cat:

I would be surprised is the 63kg for Seb is still correct.... I mean have you seen how broad his chest is recently? o.o  buuut well I never weight him :o

According to the Sauber website, Esteban Gutierrez is 60kg.  So is he the lightest?

Ted Kravitz: "At least half of Gutierrez's body weight is found in his thick neck".

Broad?  That's probably the antepenultimate word I'd use to describe Vettel's physique.

Spoiler

Next year, it might be very important indeed if the teams can't get their cars down to the minimum weight.

Presumably these would be weights, as dressed in overalls, with helmet, gloves and HANS device?

They certainly dont strip off to be reweighed after the race.  Not that I've seen, anyway.

If those weights are including suits, gloves and helmet then I do not believe they can be correct. I think these must be the calculated weight, based on deducting the helmet, gloves and suit.

I am 172 cm, and back in my 20ies I weighed from 62 to 65 kgs, I was not an athlete but I can see how they can be light with the proper emphasis on diet and training. I have shrunk to 170 cm, but have gained weight to now be at 73 - 75 kgs, clearly showing as padding for my sixpack.

Speaking to English media Hamilton joked,I weigh 71 kg and I am not going to be 65 kg unless I cut my nuts off ! And I eat really healthily.”

The info is correct, Hamilton most likely has more muscles and didn't Lewis said he is closer to 70 kilos already.

Lol indeed 184cm is pretty normal even short :D and they weight like little boys/girls. I couple of years ago lost weight from 93 kilos to 74 (my height is 190) and I felt pretty skinny but had some muscles as well, now I have got more muscles and weight is now around 82-85 and feeling better than I was when weight was only 74.

I think Nate was referring to Hamilton's height. He's shorter than Vettel. I think Lewis is closer to 170cm.

Hamilton said end of seasom 2012 he is going to bulk up a bit, among 3 kilos, some areas of his body need to get stronger

Is Vettel's low body weight actually worth some time over a lap compared to Webber?

Or are the cars ballasted to weight the same?

They are all at the same (minimum) weight, but lighter drivers can obviously achieve a lower CoG thanks to more ballast.

They're currently ballasted, but next year the lighter drivers could have a genuine advantage.

If you are lighter you can put more ballast lower, thus reducing slightly the center of gravity and making the car more stable (=faster laptime).

Haven't noticed that this would have been a subject, atleast on this level before.

Could there be real worry amongst teams of being able to meet minimum weight? 10 kg ballast compared to 10 kg overweight could make a huge difference in laptime

I just got off the phone with a mathematician and she helped me convert my height and weight from American to European measurement.

195.58cm / 88.45

I think I can put my dream of being an F1 driver to rest.

I'm 6 cm taller than anyone on the grid but my weight is not that much above their average. I wonder if it would be possible for me to drive a current F1 car.

Wow, I hope this does not lead to health problems. I consider myself in good shape: 185cm, 80kg. However, I have also gone through periods of unhealthy eating to drop my weight and trust me, it's a damn vicious habit: binging/purging, using whatever uppers to cut down hunger and yet have a modicum of brain activity without actual calories.

This is no joke. One of the reasons I really dislike MotoGP is the weirdness of the bikers. Most of them look like tiny-ass horse jockeys.

This season, I've seen Seb, Kimi, Jenson (a freaking triathlete!), look like Auschwitz survivors. This cannot be healthy.

After all, don't we want beautiful people driving beautiful cars?

I had the exact same thought this morning when I woke up. Would enforcing weight limits in the 60s actually level the playing field in favor of some female drivers?

I don't know. Look at long distance runners.

Both Marussia drivers look really skinny.

Kubica looks about Webbers height going by pictures. Quick google search says 183/184cm so 6' to 6'1". Sutil and di Resta are about that height too. Hulkenberg also.

I think Mark Webber is the tallest and heaviest. I am 6'1 and when speaking to Mark in his FF days he was taller than me. If he is 75k now I reckon he was heavier then at about 20 y/o. At times he does look anorexic, as do some of the others.

Nothing to do with this topic, but I watched post quali today with some of the interviews and thought the same thing.  The drivers are overly thin in the face.. it's pretty silly how hard F1 requires them to push themselves.. and the most ironic thing is that it's not for fitness purposes in terms of the Grand Prix distance, because they cruise around saving tyres.

yes, but he is only 166cm, so it's ok for his height...

but what surprises me is that massa is not the lightest on the grid, it's Pic, only 58kg, tho he is 12cm taller than massa...
