Yep walked it, driven it (at the speed limit) and riden my pushy around it. Indeed the TV flattens it out a lot.

It sure does! Ridden it on my motorbike (at the speed limit   ;) ). It's unbelievable how steep it is coming down.

First time I've watched the whole race in ages. Even the annoying commentary team couldn't take the shine off it this year. I think it might have been the minimal safety car interference that improved it.

No concrete in those days! And look of all the cars involved. 65 in total. How many from this weekend? 29?

You forget the excitement and variety those races had. And too many of the names are familiar! Moffat, Johnson, Grice [not yet in Supercar!] A lot more people got to compete too then. 120+ drivers instead of 58.
Have a look at the NZ series, the cars are far more basic. Probably a better series as it becomes more affordable.

Agree with you there. They tried their hardest! The American cup boat explanation was up there. The silly poll: "is Bathurst Australias biggest sporting event". umm of course it would score 90% in favour as who was watching the event?! I'm sure mid way through the racing was interupting the advertising. The ad breaks just went on. Although I give them credit for sticking around for the last laps, they could've done the Channel ten and do the break with 10 laps to go but didn't.

The endless mentioning of the wind. We started a drinking game on that one. The biggest gripe has been after the event. Speed on Foxtel have been showing highlights and it is in HD. Why can't channel 7 put it on 7mate live as well? HD converted down to SD is more rubbish than something recorded in SD. The picture looks fantastic. Another gripe was the mountain straight camera, everytime it panned the picture would jerk. Like it had image stabilising on.

Apart from all that it was great but yes we need more entries.

There was much better commentary from Radio Le Mans. If they do it again next year just mute the TV and stream Hindy. Kept me awake overnight to watch it all.
