In a fresh attempt to find the culprit, Rosberg published images from security footage via his Twitter account on Thursday morning. Shortly before 2am local time, a person is seen hovering at the back of the garage, and later taking a helmet from the stand.

I'm sorry for Nico. Hope he finds it.

Well Coulthard nicked one of Schumachers at Monaco in 96 and was audacious enough to use it....

Hamilton
the guy on the foto really looks like him

Given the number of crash helmets drivers have for one season, I can't imagine it's a great loss.

The guy got confused, he obviously snuck in there with the motive to steal Hamilton's lid. Better luck next time.

Indeed. Well, borrowed and not returned. It's at Coulthard's museaum in Scotland - here's a photo I took of it a couple of years back: http://hitchin-circu...nd_2011_29.html
Rather decent and generous of Schumacher to lend a rival one of his lids. Coulthard's own was suffering fogging.

Why did he stole only helmet. W04 was right here...

He almost won, so presumably was worth it

Totally off topic, but I wonder how complete these cars that drivers have in their personal collections are?

Given the epic security at most F1 events, can't see this just being a random and if it was, surely they would steal something easier to carry out that a helmet - couldn't really blag that if caught...

hahahha this reminds me of that Brazil helmet missing. Not sure whether it was geniunely missing or PR but come on Nico, he earns like 10million a year, surely a helmet wouldn't be anything of that

I think Dr. Evil Marko will soon get problems with Webber if he has a look at the video footage about car #2...

Should've taken one of Vettel's, he'd have never noticed.
That could theoretically be a genius move, though. Steal a fellow competitor's helmet, keep quiet about it, and then on race day just wear it and hope no one notices before the race starts. Then your competitor sees himself in the mirrors. There's got to be some kind of mental advantage to that.

A note on twitter from Nico Rosberg's PR manager:
"Just because a lot were asking. No it's not marketing. @nico_rosberg s helmet was really stolen from this guy: pic.twitter.com/cE7oPDDfWh"

sad that someone did such thing... yet WHY THE HECK it is said after few months? I mean... wouldn't it be more correct to say it straight away, so maybe he wouldn't sell the helmet yet etc? This is simply odd.

Mr. Rosberg is driving nuts today...
So it was really stolen but like some people here have already said... How in the heck is he asking for help three months afterwards?... That makes no sense... Who knows where that helmet could right now?
I'll contact Gerard Piqué and I'll ask him about it...

Deserved. Shouldn't have done the stunt in the first time, now it's back to bite him.

Weeeeeeeell, Nico's post on his website says he's never given out a race helmet. Alonso has a large collection of his rivals' helmets. Perhaps he was finding Nico's reluctance to give him one frustrating....?
I'm just putting two and two together
