All engineers say India is just like Korea.
So I expect a close race.

Is the long straight in India longer than the one in Korea?
Depends on whether you count turn 2 at Korea as being a part of the main straight.
The Buddh circuit straight is 1.239 km long, while the Yeongam straight is 1.280 km long with turn 2, but only 1.176 km long without it.
Therefore, while overall the flat-out section in Korea is longer, the actual straight is longer in India.

And austin has 1km straight... This series of long straights (korea-india-austin) is apparently oversupply. If Japan GP were at Fuji, which has 1.5km long straight, I'd go mad

FP1 is where it's at!!!
Can Hamilton retain his recent dominance across FP1 or can Vettel try and overturn things
Maybe Rosberg or Webber can get in the fight

FP1 is where it's at!!!
Half an hour in, only one car has bothered doing any laps.
Thirty of sixty minutes of nothing. One third of the session wasted.
Yes, F1 is truly happening...

Yes my comment isn't totally serious is it..
I'm referring to how at least it is competitive at the top

It has been a bit of a slow session, picking up now though, but not for Alonso, looks like gearbox issues ?

Looks like gearbox change for Alonso.

Grosjean with the fastest ideal lap time (best splits)
#13

I think Kimi had Boullier hiding in the glovebox for the session, his times are rubbish, and slowest through the traps, hope FP2 goes better.

I still have a fever for F1, every single Thursday I can't get my brain off from thinking about F1, but on Firday I tend to realize it was for nothing. RB have been dominating everthing since Spa and it continues here. I sincerely hope they will win every single session, race till the end of this year.

I hope you are right.
Adrian Newey is back on the pitwall for this race after being absence in the last 2 races. Is he here to evaluate 2014 parts on RB9?

Let's hope so.
Without Korea and India in he next year, we would lose two tracks on which Vettel was leading every lap he completed. Bad for Vettel, but good for you I guess.

Worse, I presume. TV tends to distort the real picture and tends to make it better than it actually was.

It was a race gearbox as well according to Kravitz.

@InsideFerrari29m
#INDGP No gearbox change required for @alo_oficial: there was a mechanical issue, which has been repaired.

Are the white lines there as decoration? Just watched Vettel with 4 wheels outside the line on two corners. Presumably the other drivers do the same.

heh, Vettel doing 41.8, 22.2, then pit...

Why would Ferrari run a race gear box in practise 1? Don't they usually use spares and change to race ones for Saturday in order to save milage on them?
Thats what i thought, and what Ted thought apparently, he said there was more to it than meets the eye and he would look into it, who knows ?

So it seems that exceeding the track limits is perfectly legal here, particularly at the exits of turns 13, 14 (third and second to last corners).
#38
Posted 25 October 2013 - 09:11
how Vettel can have SO MUCh advantage in S1?

And the last corner.
So how far can you exceed them? On some of these circuits you could probably take a short-cut over all the concrete run-off areas.

Yep, vettel just drove the damn car fully off the track (all four wheels) right off the corner, being able to keep the foot full down on the throttle
That's not right. It's happening in every race now it seems.

The last corner was not that bad. Every body seems to be off track at Turn 15.
