Alonso had massive Gearbox trouble in FP1, but started again in FP2. I couldn't find anything about the problem itself or if Ferrari had to change the box or if it was repairable. Is there a Grid-Penalty for Alonso on the horizon? Does anyone know more about it?

From the official twitter feed, before FP2: " #INDGP No gearbox change required for @alo_oficial: there was a mechanical issue, which has been repaired."

Doesn't matter anyway - Alonso can use the gearbox from hell in FP1 & 2 if he wants to.

The gearbox rule doesn't come into play until FP3.

Can this be Ferrari trying to copy the "trick" gearbox Red Bull is supposed to be using? Looks fishy

It's on shallow ground anyway as it's clearly Qualifying/Race related, but as it's asked a specific question it deserved an answer.

Now it's got one, this thread can be closed.
