It won't.

Because to my taste it is a much cooler word to utter. And have a nicer phonetic, again to my taste.
I still don't get it, unless Mendoza is one of the names used for Mercedes in Mexico?

I think his name is Sergio Perez Mendoza and he thinks he should call himself Sergio Mendoza instead of Sergio Perez.

Last year's race was surprisingly good to watch. Let's hope it's the same this year.
We would need Seb to start from the very back again if that is to be the case. Mind you, I wouldn't be surprised if he won anyway.

Mercedes powered cars used 8th engine, whereas others used 7th. Not that it matters something, but I wanted to point it out. And if I were Sergio, I would use Mendoza. Much cooler.
I agree. Sergio Perez sounds like the kid who lives down the street. Sergio Mendoza sounds dangerous.

Couldn't help it; had to post it. This comment from Massa is fantastic and lovable:
“I won’t push my son to be a racing driver, all the decision must come from him. It’s better if he does football, I can go to the stadium to watch him and eat French Fries. Much better than all this noise!”
A lot can be said about his driving skills, but he is a very sympathetic guy with a big heart. I wish you all the best and a drive for next year

Thanks P0inters, had me more confused than a baby raccoon that did.
I agree that Mendoza sounds better, has more gravitas to it.

Don't see too much of a difference here.

I believe Mendoza is the villain in The Simpsons' McBain show starring Rainer Wolfcastle...

I can't quite remember but I think it is a pretty low deg circuit. Last year there were some pretty long stints and even though they are a step softer this year, I don't think it will be like India last weekIt won't.

Well I'll be. An F1 OP that doesn't begin with "Anyone know what the weather will be like?" You've been lurking the Indycar/NASCAR threads, old Bean.
So, anyone know what the weather will be like?
I think Chopper could answer your weather question. Google "chopper does the weather" and substitute Abu Dhabi for Alice Springs. Sounds about right, with the possible exception of the wet part.

Nico Hulkenberg is off his sickbed. Sauber say he will be in the car for practice.

Kimi Raikkonen has arrived at the track apparently. What a difference a year makes. He won here in great style last year

there was never any doubts about his arriving, other than those that were invented by media. Also he can still do the same as last year...as race is at my knowledge held sunday, not friday.

Like anything to do with names, it's about familiarity. Perez is a common enough name where I come from that it sounds much more ordinary than Mendoza. I can't comment on what the situation would be in Mexico, or indeed where you are in Brazil.

Finally I can get some sleep.

Which sector(s) do you reckon RBR will have clear advantages over their rival?
Posted 01 November 2013 - 08:52
Small, but consistent advantage in all three, which summarized adds up to somewhere around six to eight tenths to their nearest rival.
