Hey, remember last year's Autosport Awards and how the results in a couple of catergories raised a few eyebrows and bunch of people - including me - asked stuff like 'When and where were we supposed to vote on this thing, anyway?' Well, this year Autosport have made some changes and this year Autosport readers subscribers can cast their votes online. So no excuses this year! We can also use this thread to discuss the eventual results, I guess.

On December 1, many of our sport's biggest stars will flock to the Grosvenor House Hotel in London for a glittering evening of prize-giving celebration. This year, we've altered the voting system so you can vote online by simply clicking on your choices from the nominees below. All votes will be counted to crown the AUTOSPORT Award winner for each of the eight categories, which is the ultimate accolade following an intense season of action. Remember, your vote counts - so make sure you have your say!

Vote now for your motorsport heroes of the year

Edited to add: You can also vote by buying this week's print copy of Autosport, filling out the form and sending it back by freepost. Hurry though! As of tomorrow - 01 Nov 2013 - a new issue will be in the shops.

Edited to add 2: in response to popular demand, have a poll.

My vote would be:
International Racing Driver: Sebastian Vettel
Racing Car: RB9 or Audi R18
Rally Driver: Sebastien Ogier
Rally Car: VW Polo and a special for Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak
British Competitor Driver: Allan McNish? Nah, Lewis gets it.
National Driver: Andrew Jordan
British Club Driver: Tom Ingram
Rookie of the Year: Sam Tordoff?

Warning for any non-subscribers: the OP is misleading by saying "Autosport readers" can vote, as voting is only open to subscribers. So if you don't subscribe, save yourself the disappointment and don't click the link. You'll just get slapped in the face with a big fat pay wall.

Which is a bit rich given I consider myself an Autosport "reader". I've been on these forums for over 10 years now, but I guess that counts for nothing...

Cheers. Nothing against you personally. I know those who work on the forums with us all here aren't responsible for the terrible pay wall decisions that the publisher keeps making. One day they'll wake up and realise they've been using marketing upsell tactics that are well over a decade out of date.

Can't officially vote, but:

International Driver of the Year: Bit too F1-Centric. No Loeb or Kristensen? Vettel, with Dixie as honourable mention

Racing Car of the Year: Audi R18

International Rally Driver of the Year: Sebastian Ogier

Rally Car of the Year: VW Polo

British Competition Driver of the Year: Lewis Hamilton

National Driver of the Year: Andrew Jordan

British Club Driver of the Year: Dan Cammish

Rookie of the Year: Stoffel Vandoorne

Bit of a huff in my voting pattern...

International Racing Driver: Jimmie Johnson. Well, someone had to go and vote that...

Racing Car: Audi R18. Actually saw it in person this year at Le Mans, it's a spookily brilliant piece of technology, and trumps any F1 car any day in my eyes.
Rally Driver: Sebastien Ogier. Had to be really.
Rally Car:  Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak. Crazy piece of tech.
British Competitor Driver: Allan McNish. Of all the British drivers in that list, he's actually likely to win a FIA World Championship title this year.
National Driver: Nick Tandy. He can pedal those 911s like nobody's business.

Last two were rather random...

British Club Driver: Michael Meadows
Rookie of the Year: Sam Tordoff

Well, we can only do polls for up to three questions, so I had to make hard decisions. But yeah, sure why not.  Small poll added so we can play along at home.

Well, you're right in that as I don't work for Autosport, I have nothing to do with the paywall or indeed have any sight of such decisions. However, I do think it's reasonable that the awards are voted by the people who buy the paper in some way. Restricting the access like that makes it way harder for small numbers of fans to rig awards by voting over and over again.

International Driver of the Year: Vettel (obvious)

British Competition Driver of the Year: Lewis Hamilton (obvious)

Rookie of the Year: more difficult - I went for Bottas, but Bianchi would be an option as well (though less impressive in the last races); Vandoorne may also attract some votes

Not even gonna vote.

Since its Autosport, Paul Di Resta gonna win every single category anyways, even the ones he doesnt qualify for.

Bah, I refuse to vote until there is an Autosport Forum Thread OP Of The Year category.

Also, I'm too cheap to subscribe.

Also also, I can't believe I spent my last free article of the month clicking on Kiss ends Jerez Auto GP test on top

I really wanted that to be about Gene Simmons.  :(

Ok I voted. But I'm still too cheap to subscribe.

Poll is weird though. If you're putting a NASCAR driver in the top category, it should probably be Kenseth, not Johnson.

And no Jeb Burton or Kyle Larson in the rookie category is a bit of a shame.

Poor Dixie with not a single vote.  :(

When Button won British Competition Driver of the year last season, despite being out scored and out performed by his teammate, I lost faith to a great degree in the validity of the Autosport awards. So aside from Vettel, who is an obvious pick, I just hit a couple of random selections for the other poll options.

Which is crap, basically.

It was quite ridiculous, indeed

IMO Button might win this year as well, or Chilton if he was on this list

I love the "obvious" statements above.  Strongly suggests that some don't even realise that there are other forms of motorsport other than F1.  No surprise there then.  In fact, dare I say it, obvious.

The facts may have been obvious to you, but they most certainly weren't to the Autosport voters last year. Irrespective of which motorsport category, I just used a very direct and simple comparison to highlight the point I was making.

Or are we going to compare tractor racing?

Sorry for my ignorance. "Obvious" was meant that it is pretty clear that Vettel and Hamilton will win the respective categories. Some people will rate GP2, IndyCar or endurance racing highly, but that will not be the majority.

Di resta?? I mean really?? DI RESTA?? I know the british media has a love affair with him but really?? Bianchi clearly deserves rookie of the year, no contest. As for the first poll, nobody really stands out so no comment.

IDOTY: voted Hamilton, first season with Mercedes, a win (could have been more with more luck!), 5 poles already, 5 podiums, out performed Rosberg despite having less experience with the team and car, shown he can do it in more than one car, if Mercedes had the race pace to match their qualifying pace earlier in the season maybe it could have been even better, but I think considering the challenges he's had that he's been the top driver this year for me. Alonso would be a close 2nd for those 2 wins earlier in the season in a poor Ferrari.

BDOTY: Lewis again, same reasons as above.

ROTY: Guttuirez, okay he's benefited from Sauber's improved form, but to score points in his first season despite a disappointing start I think deserves credit.
