Its depressing what F1 has become - just driving round on featureless car parks, in super reliable cars with no tension of knowing a driver could make a mistake and end up in the kitty litter or blow up to change the lead of the race.

I still love the sport, but inside of me something dies everytime I watch a race this year.

I know what you mean. And going from Suzuka to Buddh to Yas Marina... It doesn't get any worse than that.

Nevertheless, I think the race was pretty entertaining given the circumstances.

Best team this time was Force India, without doubt. Great strategy, Both in the points. Paul was Flawless...

Worst team this time was Sauber. They totally gave away Hulkenberg's points. Shame....

As Webber said, Seb was driving in some other series. Gave the race a 4.

Don't despair, sometimes I feel the same way, despite having watched F1 for 30 years. We just have to hope Vettel's/RedBulls period of dominance doesn't last too long.

As for the race; pure tedium, despite how good the cars look in the dusk/night transition. Didn't look up from the Sunday papers too many times.

Honestly, with all their money, Abu Dhabi should buy a slot in the middle of the season. Unless the championship is close fought and exciting, races there will always be subdued. It has no history and the circuit itself is featureless and bland. Unlike Suzuka and Interlagos, it can't make up for an interesting enough weekend, for TV spectators like me, on its own.

And then they could also pay the teams a bit more for 2 days of testing post GP.

Win win.

Best Driver : Di Resta (6th place was very impressive from him)
Worst Driver : none really.
Best Team : Red Bull by a country mile as always
Best Overtake: Massa on Lewis
Best Moment: going for a mid race piss and watching the pretty cloud clusters from the window.
DRS + Tyres: saving slower drivers again with both.
And the race in a sentence...like with most races this year, a snooze fest that makes me wonder why I bother with F1 other than the routine of watching.

The thing is that I don't mind if a driver dominates, as long as the racing behind him is good - and by and large it has been better than during the early noughties for example.

But there is just no tension anymore - mistakes are not punished, equipment never fails, and even the vain hope of a wet race will be rewarded by a Safety Car fest. Not to mention so many of the circuits now just look so bland and conformist - I used to be able to name the circuit by even looking at close-up photos of cars in a corner, but that's impossible now for many. The sport is just losing character.

But I still love it, of course.
