Sorry if this has already been done recently. This is following on from Bernie's silly suggestion about some races being worth more points than others. The first poll is multiple choice so you can vote for more than one circuit, but hopefully people will not vote for all but one circuit. I have had to leave off some current and recent circuits, India and CofA are not included nor Valencia, (plus perhaps a few others) but there is an other option to vote for them.

The next two questions force you to play along with Bernie's silly game and choose one current circuit that would be worth more and one circuit less points than others. Only one choice is allowed and I have included all current races on the calender, (I hope.) Just interested in what people would choose if they had to.

And I didn't actually have any answers in mind when I made this. I thought about it and decided that Australia for more points, because often it is the hardest to win as everything is new and untested in actual racing. Monaco for least, because it is not about the racing at all really, but the qualifying and it is obviously only there for the history and location these days. I don't want F1 to leave Monaco, (yet anyway) but I wouldn't be that pissed off if it didn't actually score many points.

I'd say out of all the circuits Canada has given the best races of the past few years, wet or dry.

And I'd give less points for Spa unless it was a wet race.  A circuit killed off as a challenge by the aero efficiency of the cars, the removal of the bus stop chicane, the widening of the exit at La Source and the addition of acres of tarmac run off making a corner like Pouhon completely risk free.

I'd give more points for Singapore and probably also for Suzuka.  Singapore is a physical and mental challenge.  Bumpy surface, long race, stuffy weather, close walls.  Suzuka also is one of the few circuits that still punishes errors.

Also, on the second two I effectively spoiled my ballot paper because my answer is that no track should be worth less points - I voted India because it will deliver none next year.  Additionally, no one track is worth more points simply because of where it is in the world or its configuration, but where it is in the calendar.

If I absolutely had to vote for as track to be worth double points it would be the last one of the season, so I voted Brazil.

The first question is actually pretty hard. I went by memory and picked a few. It seems it matched up decently with the other current votes.

The second is easy: Great Britain. It's as close as you can get to having a home race for F1.

The third is easy as well: Abu Dhabi. It's horrible track, and its surroundings seem devoid of any passion for the sport. If F1 has to do a promotion tour for some rich oil sheikh, it might as well stop pretending it's a real race.

Yes, corrected. Fuji has only hosted two races in recent times, I meant Suzuka.

It's quite an interesting poll is this I must admit. I've plumped for:

Q1: China and Canada (China may surprise some people but we've seen some mixed/wet condition races as well as some dry races where we've had different strategies coming together in the last few laps at that track). Brazil too.

Q2: Monaco, because basically though it's very difficult to pass, 1 mistake and it's generally "hello barrier" so you've got to be millimetrically perfect throughout and it'll be tough mentally in that respect.

Q3: India, because we've not had a remotely interesting or exciting race there yet. At least Abu Dhabi we had last year with Vettel coming from the back, safety cars, the leader retiring etc.

Less points for Barcelona. It could be an unofficial/optional race. It is the worst circuit by far. If it was up to me I'd remove it from the calendar. They should build a new track in Spain. Valencia was also total crap.

According to F1Fanatics' own race rating statistics, the highest rated GP from 2008-2012 was the Canadian GP with an average of 8.62, followed by Spa (7.84), Melbourne (7.72) and Brazil (7.71). Regarding consistence, Spa has the by far lowest variance of those (0.11) with Brazil having the highest (2.59). That's pretty close to my own perception. Suzuka's average score is a midfieldish 6.57, which i find kinda understandable considering that while the track is great, the actual racing often lags behind.

Lowest average ratings were for India (5.37, but with only two races scored), Valencia (5.49), Bahrain (5.82) and Borecelona (6.19).

So much for the statistics. As for the poll, i don't want any circuit to be worth more or less points than the others. It's not a realistic prospect anyway.

In the DRS era, Belgium has actually consistently provided horrible racing, as has every other circuit that naturally lends itself to overtaking.

It's maybe not as good as before, but horrible? I think you really need to watch a horrible race. I suggest the 2004 Hungarian GP. It's on Youtube.

Montreal, Interlagos and Spa. Bests races year after year. Melbourne is a good one too.

I like Monaco, Monza and Suzuka quite a lot, but for completely different reasons than having the best races.

Yet the 2013 Hungarian GP is among the best this year. DRS has completely flipped the pecking order of good circuits for racing.

Spa, Suzuka, Monza and Monaco - great circuits but hit and miss with the races

I don't understand peoples hate for Korea. Weired and interesting stuffs always happen there.
Voted Monaco for more, Hungary for less. Monaco beacuse it's Monaco, racing is crap but it's the most marketable event of them all. Hungary beacuse often the champion don't win there, and beacuse the races are zZzzZ

I love Shanghai Circuit. Chinese GP in 2011 and 2012 are perhaps two most entertaining dry races I can recall.

Canada is consistently good too.

Other races I tend to enjoy are Australia, Malaysia, Belgium, Brazil and races on Hockenheim.

If one race has to be worth more points than other, I would perhaps go for Monaco. The most famous GP and one of the most challenging tracks.

I see no point to single out one race (or small amount of races) as worth less points.

As already hinted, so far this year's Hungarian GP was easily the best GP of the year. I voted the Spanish GP (Barcelona) as the lesser points GP in an immediate reflex - with just a little more thought I would have chosen the Bahrain or the Indian GP.

Most Tilke tracks are woeful, especially his latest creations. I haven't bothered watching any footage this year from India, Abu Dhabi and Korea and I don't regret it one bit. Classic tracks like Spa (not as much anymore with all the crap runoffs), Canada, Monaco and Monza are joy to watch even if the racing is at time average.

Unfortunately FIA are too stupid to see what makes a good track and a good race so the good moments in F1 are slowly decreasing and fading away.

Voted for Spa as the one to get bonus points and Monaco as the one to get demerits. Spa is F1's most iconic track, whereas there's never any real racing at Monaco.

I know this... every year, i can't sodding wait till Belgium. It is a fantastic track and fantastic races have been had there almost every-time. So first two votes go to Belgium...

The race which has to be less points, that was Spain for me. Circuit de-Catalunya gets on a bit! There are some other tracks too :p Hungary...

note: not to start a flame war or anything... since 2008-2012 Canada is rated best? Really... I mean i love circuit de Gilles Villeneuve (not as much as Spa though :p). I personally think it is a very fun circuit with twisty bits and a pretty long straight. The best racing? I guess you could say 2011... where Button won but what else? I mean it was a good race this year and last, but nothing stand out proper (well, to me :p)

note: for some of the newer fans of the sport...

Yet the best Hungarian GP is perhaps 1998.... Same winner, yet different circumstances.... 1998 Schumacher beats 2004 Schumacher by miles, given how fast McLaren was in 1998.

Anyway, I vote Brazil. That track always has exciting stuff. The weather of course, plays a large role.

There's always a lot of action around Canada. Both 2007 and 2008 had uncommon progress and result due to SC making the race totally unpredictable. In 2010 tyres degraded very quickly which was very surprising for the teams and there was a lot of things happening during the race. It's a circuit which creates good overtaking opportunities so there is no way everyone get stuck behind other car and nothing happens. It's also a circuit which generated a lot of unpredictable events over past few years. There is something in it what makes you remember any race that took place on it for some reason.

Although Shanghai is a fairly horrible layout for qualifying, the races in 06, 07, 09, 10, 11 and 12 were all good, 10, 11 and 12 fantastic. 2013 wasn't bad either, the track just seems to work for entertainment

OK, but there is no double point for Abu Dhabi, but for the season's final race. It will be AD for 2014, but I hope its only temporally. But considering Bernie, if orgasnisers of a given track pay more, they'll get the final slot for a given year.

Can we donate somewhere for Brasil?

Indeed, but only if there is a chance to have a fight for WDC.

In 2011 or in this year it was not so thrilling... Even Abu Dhabi was thrilling for 15-20 laps in 2010 (turning to total boring race)

Really only Melbourne and Montreal spring to mind.

Less points for Barcelona. It could be an unofficial/optional race. It is the worst circuit by far. If it was up to me I'd remove it from the calendar. They should build a new track in Spain. Valencia was also total crap.

Why not go to Jerez??

Suzuka = Best racing (with SPA a close second).

Fewer points = Silverstone > being a sort of host country for the sport.

double points = Monaco, Suzuka, SPA, (In that order) - although the best idea is to make it random.
