The front wheel covers/headlights remind me a bit of the Lister LMP from a while back, vertical with what little streamlining being in the other direction (pushing the air left/right of it).

Still, for me nothing will ever beat the original-spec Reynard 2KQ for ungainly front wheel covers.

Listers upright front fenders are exactly what the trend is because of the rules. Porsche and Audi are the same. Btw according to their twitter feed https://mobile.twitt...205420624982016 the lights will change again in the coming weeks.

The Lister was very much ahead of it's time aerodynamically, those upright leading edges on the front fenders are key to the high-downforce packages these cars run everywhere else but Le Mans.

This is my favourite of the 3. Really cool looking car and a lot more aggressive on the aero to the TS030.

Now that all cars are properly introduced, I think pace wise it will be Audi > Toyota >> Porsche.

I think we'll see a Toyota on the top step at Silverstone personally...

Nothing, just my guess.

Which is all we can do at the moment. Not sure if the two Paul Ricard test days will tell anything with most teams still preparing ultimately for Le Mans.

Blame CAE/CFD for this. Before the engineers went for streamlined shapes and simple flowing shapes but with the increase in the sophistication of the modelling they can do, they find ways to play with the air and create all sort of vortices and high/low pressures to get the most out of the cars.

And the regulations don't help either.

This. Someone pointed out in the thread about F1 aesthetics that the Japanese bullet train (Shinkansen? Can't be bothered looking it up :)) doesn't have a rule book and has got ugly over the years too.

So as a WEC noob, I have a couple of questions.

1) How long until Porsche fix their livery? It's not good lol.

2) They've split Bernhard and Dumas, which one is the stronger driver do we think?

1. They're German, so they won't.

2. IMO, Dumas.

Whats the deal with Porsche and Toyota with those hideous front lights. Looks like there's no curve and flow...Just a big square on each side..

Aerodynamics. They're trying to get the airflow around the fenders, and a square leading edge like that is better for controlled airflow. It's more draggy than a sloped fender, but aids downforce.

Search twitter for ts040, they have a more rounded headlight cluster testing. But like I pointed out earlier, the lights are due to change.

Better news on the colour scheme front - Rebellion have ditched the "Lotus" thing and gone back to their own colours.

It is a very cool and interesting looking car but in my eyes Audi is still the prettiest.

I'd agree.

I wanted the Porsche to be, but it didn't even come second.

As a blind fanboi, Audi was always going to win, but when did these boring grey camo stripes become deriguer for car livery?  Do not like.

Oh and didn't Rebellion used to run the gorgeous red, white, and gold livery.  Looking at the link, it seems they're just running red and white, which is a shame.

The Audi Livery in black looks the best imo.

Rebellion R-One on track at Ricard. I have to say, it looks very good in all-carbon-black. :D Both cars should be racing from Spa onwards.

Looking neat! Disappointed they didn't go for the F1-esque nose but still
Good thing both cars enters Spa and not goes unraced into Le Mans (which probably the Kedowa Lotus will).

I suspect it's the people running this: http://www.rebellion-timepieces.com/

And looking at some of the prices, I suspect the profit from selling about 100 of those watches can fund a two-car team without any problem.  :cat:

Yeah Jon's Gumball project from last year. I wonder why he choose to call it Rebellion when it bears so much resemblence to a P1 and there already is the Rebellion team? Especially since Jon is working with Audi on different projects  :stoned:

My friend knows him, I might ask him sometime..

Autosport reporting the Lotus LMP1 has been withdrawn. Was looking forward to seeing it as even if they'd be on the back foot, it'd be good to have some privateer LMP1 competition for the Rebellions - hope they can at least make it later on in the season.

To be quite honest, I don't think that car actually exists, the silence from the project before the withdrawal announcement has been very telling. It's all been vaporware.

The brilliantly named (and quite good looking) Strakka-Dome has been testing at Spa togheter with Toyota for the last two days.

More pics here: http://www.endurance...-toyota-racing/

It's nice to see two new P2 Coupé's competing at Le Mans. Strakka-Dome and the new Ligier:

Yeees i know it's LMP1 participant thread but there is not room for separate P1 and P2 threads...

Edit: By the looks of it, maybe the Le Mans stickers above the number plates will also be color coded for each class. Good move

Pictures have not flattered this car. To me, it looks like an awkardly-narrow closed-cockpit open-wheeler with fenders.

No beautiful proportions there.
