Nothing specific, but it was a venue for national and international F3 races around that time (and rounds in the Peace and Friendship Cup)

The Peace and Friendship Cup was at Pécs in 64' Autumn. Before and after in this date were some German FJ events in Germany.

What F junior(?) championships and events were at the time?

Varosliget Krt is shown as a road within the park on Google Map. I assume Krt means something like circuit.

Thank you sramoa. As you can see, my grasp of Magyar is exacty nil!  I do remember watching a movie on TV in Australia late one night, and couldn't work out what language it was in. Eventually the credits revealed all: Hungarian. And  when I was very young and collected postage stamps I had some labelled Magyar kir Posta (or something very similar). I was fascinated but had no head for languages at all. Cheers!

Check out Guido de Carli's site with info on this track:

It is indeed still a town park with some other tourist attractions near (museums, fairy park, swimming pool). Hosok Tere is a very impressive square in Budapest.

Arjan, at that site it indicates the proposed venue of the 80's Hungarian GP. But this park has been used in the 50's and 60's indeed, I recently learned that this circuit hosted the Hungarian ETCC rounds from 1963 to about 1969 instead of Nepliget. I hope to get some more information, I don't know the track length for instance.
