I'm searching for results from the BRDC MX-5 Cup that was run in 1990 (and again in 1991?) and wondered if anyone here might be able to help. Information on the internet is scarce, I've only managed to find a top-10 listing from one of the Silverstone races. Patrick Watts won the series ahead of Mark Lemmer over the course of 12 races, amongst which were rounds at Donington (World Sportscar support race), Silverstone (also WSPC), Cadwell Park and Brands Hatch. Apparently 26 drivers competed in the series in 1990, but that's about all the info I have.

 

Any help with finding the race results would be greatly appreciated. I don't know which magazines (if any) would have published results of a one-off club series like this one.

IIRC, my old mate John Blennerhassett won the first ever round at Silverstone.  He was in third place when Watts and Lemmer tangled and went off at Bridge Corner on the last lap, and he was a surprised winner.  He didn't even realise he had won at first.

 

But where to get results....sorry, can't help there!

 

They had a little trick box that they plugged in to each car to see if the engine was standard.  I never understood how that worked.

Does anyone have any of the following editions of Autosport? 24/05/1990, 21/06/1990, 12/07/1990, 26/07/1990, 21/03/1991. Those should contain information on some of the MX-5 UK Cup races, I would appreciate it if anyone could scan/post the results and reports from those editions.

I'm currently looking for a championship points table for the 1991 MX-5 UK Cup - there should be one in the programme for the BTCC event at Silverstone on October 6th 1991. Does anyone have a programme from that meeting that they could scan the relevant information from?
