I am compiling a video from old 8mm films of various Hillclimbs - some from Foleys Hill 1947 - and there is one venue I cannot identify.

Could somebody look at YouTube  and advise what where it is?

Great filum Mr Hallman

By the number of Black on Yellow number plates I'm guessing NSW, Australia

It looks vaguely like the Tourist Road between Bowral and Robertson (referred to as Armstrong's Hill)

Just to confirm the order of things, The Tourist Rd Hillclimb (2-3 events) is said to have preceded both Robertson (Fountaindale) then Oxleys Hill Rd in the Southern Highlands.

Can we try again with the video?

It says on my screen that it doesn't exist...

AFAIK no "video" exists of these Hillclimbs, maybe some hand-cranked film cameras were there if we are very lucky.

Torston... can you please re-link the you tube clip?

It says 'does not exist' when I click on it.

Hang on... you've done it again, Mick... resurrected a thread from nowhere about nothing.

and just to clarify something, Range Road may also have been the venue (just back from the intersection with the Tourist Road) as the Tourist Rd was likely a "main" road in those days. Both Roads have section up towards the school that would lend themselves to running a Hillclimb event.

Mick, didn't you say something about not tossing ideas about nothing into the breach last week?

For starters, pray tell, who said there were two or three hillclimbs up the Tourist Road?

And though I never saw the film clip, I wonder if it might have showed a bit of Hawkesbury Hillclimb, which could easily look like a lot of those roads you describe?
