Please tell me you're not implying he has particularly good values, standing out from all of his peers with his exemplary character. I'm getting somewhat confused here, is this 'personality of the year', or 'most successful' under another name.

If you can't look past the ruthless overachiever that sits in the car, then you're missing the point entirely.

You would vote on Vettel even if the question would be: "Who I would want to marry" or "Who is the best person in the world" or "Who should lead my country".

:D

Based on what? The fact that he's a good driver? That doesn't make him a personality, it just makes him a good driver.

Unless 'personality of the year' can be won by somebody with an often negative personality, in which case I think Vettel could be a candidate. Do they have to be a good personality to win?

I don't want to keep ripping into Seb, but the way people jump on his bandwagon of success, pretending that stuff like Multi 21-gate says nothing about his character, come on.

Based on the fact that he is funny, communicative, charismatic, friendly, spends more time than any other driver with fans talking, signing things and taking pictures, and speaks knowledgeably and intelligently.

I answered in terms of the candidates' "Public Personality" not how many races the individual won, their political prowess/on track antics/in garage decisions.  Those things are collateral to "personality".   We don't all know all of these individuals, so we can only vote on the public personality we see.  If there is some other criteria, the OP failed to provide it, so that was the basis I used.

In my opinion, it was a three way public personality race between Seb Vettel, Seb Ogier and  Monisha.  Seb Vettel is easily the winner in terms of personality.

When Seb said after winning at Austin

"We have to remember these days. There's no guarantee they will be forever"

It was a genuinely enjoyable moment. His post-race donuts have been enjoyable as well, and I have actually started to find his humor mildly amusing, after his crazy frog impressions made me want to throw a brick at my screen in previous years.

Him larking around with Lewis post-race at SPA was also highly enjoyable.

I go Super Seb for this one.

I really don't get this award. Not one of them drivers have much of a personality imo. Why don't they have people like Hamilton and Kimi as candidates ?

Nevertheless , i voted Tom K for his strong words after Le Mans this year. That did show character.

"If you want it to be personal, we lost somebody who shared the same dream, an absolutely humble and nice guy."

"It's a mixed feeling. My father died in March and he said I would win Le mans this year."

"I hope I can win another one and dedicate it to my dad because this year is for Allan Simonsen."

One and only Mr. Le Mans himself, the great Tom Kristensen.

This is why TK would also get my vote. I was under the podium when he said those words, the reaction from the whole crowd assembled on the front straight was amazing. (yes, I know that half of the people in the crowd were Danish, but still...) Classy words from a great personality in one of the toughest moments in motorsport this year.

What's the point of this reward, exactly?

Robert Kubica.

An amazing achievement to win a championship considering all his rehabilitation and an inspiration to all racing drivers.

No other driver has impressed me as much this year with what they've achieved.

I agree, what Robert has done lately is much more than winning any championship.

To be honest any fan of any driver will say this.
