Such a missed opportunity that Gonzalez's first name doesn't start with an s.

Typical F1... a dry FP and no-one goes out for the first 30 minutes, but here when it's wet they're all out.
#8
Posted 22 November 2013 - 12:31
Is Gonzalez the worst driver we've seen in an F1 car for a few seasons? I can't think of anyone who has been consistently seconds behind the race driver in all conditions.

Is Red Bull the only team to use those test devices? I guess that's why they are the best...

JEV had a problem in his car miraculously being the exact difference between Kvyat and himself.

No idea, its a just an information.
Max G Force depends mainly on tire grip.
Carbon disc brakes can provide much higher stop power.
See the jet airplanes landing.

38 min: Rosberg's engineer tells him: "Ross (Brawn) says you're the only one dumb enough to be out there at the moment."
Not much else exciting going on. TV showing Domenicali chatting with a rather fed up looking Alonso in the garage.

yeah, JEV's been nowhere for a while... he seemed to lose confidence when RIC got the RB seat

Rosberg is consistently impressive in the wet. He's unlucky there hasn't been a wet race so far because I think he'd be very likely to win it.

Yes, he has been impressive. Makes me wonder what a former team-mate who handed him his arse in the wet would be doing.

Kvyat keeps impressing.
It was probably overstated in the conditions and with problems with JEV's car, but he appears to be a little whip. We'll see.

I am sure Michael Schumacher would be 0.5 or 1 second faster than anyone else...

Lewis is running a proper wet setup by the looks of it, so Mercedes are pretty convinced that the weather is staying like this for Qually and the race.
EDIT: looks like most cars are now. Very high ride heights and presumably softer dampers and springs.

Because we've had all sessions under wet conditions, I'm hoping the race won't start under safety car because all cars should be setup for the conditions and thus a wet start is warranted.

I fear more the possibility that they red flag Qualy and will have to do it in the dry tomorrow..

If there's a hint of a dry Q3/race, I can see many cars being set up for the dry. If the conditions get a bit damp, they can just lobby Charlie to use the red flag/safety car/delayed start.

Hulk is on inters now, so qualifying should go ahead no problem if the weather remains the same. There's absolutely no reason to delay it, cars are driving round at a decent speed on the intermediate tyre.
