Interesting. If you lift the little orange man to see what other areas are available for wandering through, there are a couple of corridors which you can whiz through, but whenever you get close to a window, it frosts up. Interesting thing to do though.

Heh. If you think that's secrecy, try getting anywhere near the American Embassy on Pariser Platz in Berlin! No street view and lots of pictures of the Brandenburg Gate!

Kind of cool walking around the cars and trophies If Andy is reading, or anyone else knows, I am wondering what race the steering wheel trophies come from. I just can't recall them.
By the way, in case anyone tries to hard, the only things I could find on the first floor was a Mika Hakkinen meeting room and toilet. Which are totally separate, I should add

I haven't seen which trophies you are referring to but the Aus GP has steering wheel shaped trophies

In addition to the traditionally shaped steering wheel trophies for the Oz GP, the McLaren trophy cabinet contains several more modern shaped steering wheel trophies. They seem to have the Marlboro chevron on them so I guess they relate to one or more of the races that were Marlboro sponsored during the '80s.

Thanks to you all. It was the modern shaped steering wheel trophy I was referring to, kindly demostrated by Kimi in Spain
Far better than the Santander turd trophies. McLaren seem to agree as well, as it looks like they've hidden most of those ones in the vault with the MP4-18

Hungary also used to have steering wheel

Oh what an awesome car that MP4-20 was...
Cool idea, nice to walk around these cars, don't have to visit the factory anymore.

No MP4/4
It's quite evident how ugly current cars are, compared to late 80s and early 90s ones. Those shapes were just perfect. I don't quite like the early 80s either.

For goodness' sake, can someone correct "it's" to "its" in the thread title?
It's = "It is" or "it has"
Its = belonging to it
This has been a public service announcement

What is happening in the room behind the display of old cars where they seem to be servicing... old cars?
(And yes before some wag pipes up I know technically the answer is they are servicing old cars, but why?)

I can't see Ron Dennis's ego.
Of course you can't. Its chrome, shiny and completely lacking in any decoration.

Slight mark on one of the windows. Ron is going to shoot someone.

Behind the frozen windows?
Or perhaps that's why the corridors were completely empty of anyone, when the pictures were taken.

It's funny I've got a photo's through some of those windows from when I won a day there via Vodafone VIP - suspect they moved anything that was secret out of view that day.

I definitely see some dust on the floor as well. How embarrassing. Didn't they have anyone at the factory to tell Ron to go swivel?

I have a story...
During construction of Paragon, Ron noticed that when some of the doors were open, the slots in the heads of the screws holding the hinges in place were not in alignment. They had to machine custom screws which fitted tightly and ensures that all the slots in the heads were aligned horizontally or vertically (don't know which the story didn't go into detail as it was an angry project manager telling me this).
Yeah, I know.

Envious.
The environment looks very cold and clinical but I suspect in reality it's a lovely bright place to work.

It really does look like a lab. Pablo Elizalde from Autosport was joking on Twitter that you have to clean your shoes before you click on the link
But that much happy faces at Mclaren cannot be wrong.

This is wonderful. Disparage it if you must, but the MTC is what F1 is supposed to look like in the 21st century.
The only thing is, most of it looks over exposed? I'm sure that is quite vexing to Ron.

Is it against British law for the cars to have their cigarette advertising on them even in this museum-type setting?

As far as i am aware off they like to keep most of them in running order so they can be used in demo run's,

Maybe they would have had better luck if their mums helped them get things done. McLaren obviously did all it could to sabotage them.

Going back to satellite view, its plainly obvious that Ron didnt built enough car parking spots for the employees.
Cars double parked galore.
And how on earth are those transporter trucks supposed to turn around?

All hot blooded drivers. You can add Lewis to that list. Ron was not nice to him when leaving as well
I think they like Scandinavians, that suits more to that cold environment...

Actually a number 12 4/4 is in one of the service bays (behind glass), just go near the orange F1 LM and look right of it.
