Alzamora's facepalm was just epic
Another great race, awesome riding by Bastianini and great recovery for Bagnaia before the problem

Dear God Moto2 has suddenly become the dullest class in bike racing.
Even Huewen said watching Rabat is boring, I can only agree.

Great to see Masbou winning, dude had it coming all season.
Rant:
My ****ing god, watching Moto-anything at BT Sports is like having a stroke. An overly British hype stroke. Moto2 is happening and all I hear is SAM LOWES SAM LOWES SAM LOWES SAM LOWES. Christ.
/Rant.

Well Lowes atleast was in the front, in the Netherlands we have a commentator who is always talking about Schouten and Derou
By the way, does somebody know the reason why Moto2 is so dull? Is it something in the technical regulations or something else?
#2607
Posted 17 August 2014 - 10:49
I think it's clear that the whole Moto2 class has been a mistake, at least in the sense of being a true replacement for the 250s not just from a competitive point of view but from a technical point of view with there seemingly being no end in sight to the detuned supersport spec engines they're using. The only thing Moto2 has done is keep the intermediate class in existence, albeit pitiful.

Well at least the 2011 season was fun with Bradl vs. Marquez vs. Iannone vs. Luthi vs. Espargaro.

Its just a training wheel class. Jumping from Moto3 to MotoGP is a big jump

Moto2 has had great races only this year and some of last year has it got a bit dull.

The reaosn the clas sis dull is that Varc VDS probably spend more than anyone else, so are a GP team in a training class!
Just two dull riders, that's all.
I do get fed up too with BTSport hype, the bloke binned it, just liek Smith always does, yet to listen to them they are soooooo unlucky.
Garbage and fake sorry.

Unfortunately I was waiting for Lowes to crash out of a podium position, and he duly obliged - oh well, fingers crossed for silverstone.

Posted 17 August 2014 - 11:24
I dont feel sorry for blokes that crash regularly. I do have elements of sympathy for Lowes as I think he is over working a rubbish bike.
Others though ahve made careers of it, Checa, Axel pons, one or two others, spot the ovious connection! And it begins with S

Why can't Moto2 be the first race instead of Moto3... I always wake up late on a Moto3 Sunday and just get to see the podium celebrations. *sigh*
#2618
Posted 17 August 2014 - 11:43
I think they used to have a mix up of timings in the early days.
Mainly in Spain because 125 and 250 used to be far more popular there. Until they managed to get a few guys who could ride bigger bikes after spending millions on their progression for 20 years!

Brno is fantastic.
Those two corners with Iannone and Marquez giving each other no quarter was the tits.

If you look at onboard data
Marc is not able to hold anywhere near as much corner speed, I suspect a duff front tyre actually.

That is why Pedrosa will continue to ride for HRC. Marquez has a bad day but Pedrosa picks up the pieces and Yamaha still go winless. The perfect number two. I also quite like the statistic that this represents Marc's first finish on the road off the podium in MotoGP.

So true, it would be great if they can be the front often and longer next year. Iannone really showed he isn't afraid of the "aliens" today, it's the duke that is holding him back.

I really thought Marquez would be halted in his winning streak by falling off the bike, either by pushing to hard or being hit by a rival. But as they say, this is how the world ends: not with a bang, but by a whimper.
