I just hope we're not going to see a 25 bikes field with 20 Kawasakis.

Jack Miller set for Moto2 move with Marc VDS? bit.ly/1kWWp2u

Marc VDS Racing boss Michael Bartholemy told MCN: “We have an agreement with him for next year but have to discuss the details. Jack is a big talent and it would be great to have him in our team.”

As long as that means we'll have Tito Madman Rabat in MotoGP.

Another Spaniard in a top team.

You have to give Rossi credit, if it wasnt for him nearly the whole grid would be Spanish.

I know it shouldnt make any difference, but sorry it just does.

And most of the spanish are catalan (Marquez brothers, Pedrosa, Espargaro brothers, Rabat, Viñales brothers, Torres, Pons, Rins...)

Nationality is irrelevant, what I have an issue with is when they start promoting rider because of their nationality not their talent.

Riders being in the top class because of nationality rather than talent isn't unique to the Spanish though is it. Also applies to UK (and i'm sure many other countrys) riders over the years that I can think of.

I would rather most of the field was more of a mix, but you can't not want top riders like Rabat to progress because he's Spanish.

The point is valid, I ust dont see anythign in Rabata that makes me think he is any different to Espig, Pedrosa, Bautista etc etc.

he is good, but is he another Barbera?  Another Alvaro?

Guy just doesnt excite me or rile me either way. Just another talented yet utterly uninteresting Spaniard

I don't think Rabat is a future Moto GP star or front-runner either. Most likely he'll be a solid midfielder, like Bradl or Bautista.

But he is good enough to get a chance in Moto GP.

Also can't reject him on the basis of "sorry there are already too many of your compatriots in top series, let's limit them." Though in Olympics you can enter only 3 competitors per country for an event (depending on event, say athletics). But I don't think we are going to use it here.:D

This can happen to sports that some nation dominates. I.e in basketball most of the top players are American. So what can you do about it?

In terms of nationalities we can't reject anyone. Best what can be done, is that the powers of the sport have to find means and take action to popularize the sport around the world. But that's one hell of a task.

Nobody said he was going to a top team. :/

I agree that Rabat doesn't excite me, though. Its his 4th year in Moto2 and while he's obviously improved, is that a raw improvement in overall capability or is it a specialized improvement?

It is also riding for the best team.

Both of their riders are up there and prettgy much dominating the series, and Kallio has found some decent form, after being roundly beaten much of the year by Redding last year.

I guess the sport being dominated by one nation is fine, but just tkaes a small edge away for me.

It is one thing F1 has that is very appealling to the fan, a juge variety of drivers from all over the world.  not just one nation in the top teams.

Marquez, Pedrosa, Lorenzo, 2 x Espig, Bautista. Honda only have Bradl on their book who isnt damned Spanish!

I am not saying the guys do not deserve the rides, just merely pointing out the series loses an element of interest worldwide if they are all Spaniards.

Well, then the rising stars are also from Spain...Marques 2, Viñales, Rins...only Miller and Fenati seem to be future WDC.

I was hoping we would see something in the younger Marquez this year that made you think he could challenge his brother one day but it just doesn't seem to be there. Wasn't Marc winning races in GP2 at the age his brother is now?

Sorry to use an F1 analogy but I think he will be the 'Ralf' of this particuar racing family.

OTOH, how many young riders suffer some mini slumps before winning and estabilishing themselves for good? Rossi had one of sorts in 1998.

Well, it is a though comparision, MMarquez is a rare talent, one of those who appear every 10 or 20 years or even more. Only Rossi achievemetns are similar to the ones MMarquez is getting. So the youger MArquez can still be a more than a decent rider and win races or even championships if he is in the right place and time. Ralf was not that bad, he won several races in F1 and showed quite good level during some seasons.

Jack Miller set for Moto2 move with Marc VDS? bit.ly/1kWWp2u

"@motomatters: Interesting. Ajo issue press release interview with Jack Miller, where he says he has nothing signed for 2015. Marc VDS may not agree ..."

"@motomatters: The interesting thing to note there is that Aki Ajo is now also Miller's personal manager. Marc VDS has contract signed by Miller & parents"

"@motomatters: Michael Bartholemy of Marc VDS is clear. He has a contract with Jack Miller, signed by all parties. This could get messy and expensive."

I didn't know Miller is already contacted to VDS and is being loaned to Ajo's team because Miller wanted to stay in Moto3 for this year.

http://motomatters.c...medium=facebook

Interesting Silly season developments with Dovi and Iannone being offered rides at Suzuki yet both wanting the factory Ducati ride (Problem being Cal already having a contract for one seat and rules only allowing 2 bikes in the team)

It would be preferable if you put the riders in 1-2-3 order, rather than 2-1-3.

I see Da Costa is running on a Honda (gearing up for a full time return next year) in this weekends BSB. Can't say I know much about him but he's second in free practice, so both he and the bike are looking damn good.

Maybe people just wait for the actual race. No world cup match underway right now afaik

Not much to talk about really, no strategy, dull on the technical side except maybe the fact that Marquez appear ungodlike this week.

Hope for rain. Maybe we'll see a wet god.

Me too

Yeah Marquez crashed but it wasn't a big deal. He's still on the front row and he looked to have pace for pole had he not gone in too hot. Hoping for a good race tomorrow.

Domination does no-one any good other than the bloke winning and his team.

Faact.

Plus for some reason a lot of people like watching cars for 24 hours!  God knows why.

Maybe for the same reason you like to be negative all the time.

What a race!!

I wish Vale had a bit more pace near the end, just to get involved. (And win preferably, I was cheering for him)

Pedrosa wanted it a bit too much, but a very good race anyway  :)

MM showing clasa again, but finally not by a huge margin.

I don't care if the same person wins every race of the season, the quality of the racing is superb. MotoGP is fantastic at the moment.

I will take domination with races like that over 10 different race winners with boring races any time.

Great performances from the top 3 guys, and good to see Dani really bringing it to Marc, last year I didn't think he quite had it in him. Vale's resurgence also proves me wrong. Just need Lorenzo to pick it up a little bit...

Is Marc really only 21. Potential GOAT.

Smae about the barging from Marquez, I know it's not flower arranging, but the guy is seemingly happy with almost hitting people to pass them. Almost took Rossi down, then practically did the same to his team mate.

They are getting closer and am wondering if Dani was able to squeak past in that last bend, seems MArquez closed the door a bit and managed to close him down, but I think Dani was just being optimistic as a last bend attack.

Seems Yamaha are struggling with rear grip last few laps. Jorge was nowhere towards the end.

Can't argue with Marquez brain and racecraft, but am not so sure some of his moves are quite correct.

but he gets away with it and is winning every race.

But they are getting closer

Great to see Vale46 giving it everything he has got, such a legend.., great to see Dani upfront, and a bit dissapointed with Lori, but we know Lore is so talented he will bounce back very soon.

i think Yamaha needs to work very hard on their brakes, they are just losing out on that front i think their M1 engine is quite ok compared to the honda imo.
