I couldnt see the Connaught picture. But the BRMV16-Maserati shot shows Roy Salvadori in the Gilby Engineering 250F shaking his fist at Ken Wharton during the Glover Trophy Race at the 1954 Easter Goodwood meeting. The two cars later collided at Lavant Corner, after which Wharton restarted and went on to win the MK1[s last race,

I think Collins won at Aintree in Autumn of that year in the BRM.

He did indeed John, but it was in a Mark2 V16. Kens Easter Goodwood win was the last for a Mark1.

Err yes I should know as I have just sold my autographed photo of him in that event. 03/09/55. I can't find the emoticons in this new format to show a red face.

That photo must have been hard to part with. Funnily enough I still have the signed photo of Peter in a MK2 V16 that he sent me in reponse to a fan letter that I wrote him in 1955. Dont worry about the red face Signalman, just put your self on 'Jankers' for a couple of hours!.
