Man that is one fugly nose :(

If they are desperate for low noses, have something like the Jordan 191, elegant and beautiful.

Hell no mate, Just wait until the general public see's this. These noses well get ribbed by everyone, Newspaper, comedians.youtube comments gallore, all i see is a dick nose waiting to enter a car's diffuser. What a damn joke. The FIA has done themselves no favours . The other Racing series must be laughing there damn socks off.

I'm sure Freud would have a lot to work with there...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder?

C'mon now.  There's no need to defend this.  The more people that raise a stink, the quicker the FIA will be to ensure this is changed for next year.  We don't need them pointing to a small minority of whackos who find this acceptable and questioning if they should make the changes.

What they should have done of course was to mandate a flat floor right to the nose tip and mandate that the moncoque must have reached all the way down to the floor.

This would have resulted in pre-Tyrellesque cars from the 1980s.

Well, the nose doesn't look THAT bad. At least it looks better than the stepped noses of 2012.

Needs to have a clean line from the tip to the bulkhead, its the sharp rate of change around the end of the real nose that is causing the thing to look fugly. Again, the FIA needs to be stricter in its wording. You really would have thought they would have learned after the stepped noses of a couple of years ago...

I agree... at least the 'finger' looks like it has a function aerodynamically...

Agree. It looks crooked, like a broken nose / witch's nose. I thought the same thing about some of the Red Bull noses the last few years (not all) but this is much worse.

I think the dicknose bit looks a tad silly bit it's not entirely ridiculous nor vomit-enducingly ugly. Not as bad expectations.

I have thought this for a while and don't know why the FIA didn't do this originally.

So what's the point (no pun intended) of the nose being like that ? Is the extension there just to comply with the new rules on how low they have to be ?

All they had to do was impose a max rate of change. You have a min and max width of the nose tip, min and max width of the bulkhead, and a max rate of change between them. What's so complex about that?

I know we really need more female race car drivers excited to try and make it to F1 but turning every car into a vibrator is going a bit too far.

I don't know how they can be so incompetent they can't come up with a set of rules which avoids situations like these. Teams have even proposed new regulations so that they don't look ugly but they have to big an ego to admit such a mistake,

I will wait with beauty or ugly car until I start seeing them on track. Interesting news that Williams have Martini as a sponsor. Those cars with that sponsorship is true classic. Hope they make something retro cause that would be beautiful.

Do you really think that would work?

Look at the double points race fiasco, it been universally hated by teams and fans, every poll I've seen has been over 90% that it sucks and must change, yet it stays.  Bernie is only interested in one thing now imo, running F1 into the ground so theres nothing salvageable from it when he pops his clogs.

I don't like it from first impression, but I got used to the stepped noses pretty quickly (even the Ferrari F2012 grew on me - I started thinking it looked a bit like a shark) so think I'll get used to this. It puts me ever so vaguely in mind of the Ligier JS11. Maybe that's blasphemy, but it's what I thought  :p

Interesting concept livery posted on Reddit:

StuOnaB.jpg

Assuming this does go through, it's great to see that a team is capable of finding a new title sponsor that is not linked directly to one of its drivers.

Putting the Martini stripes on the nose looks to be a great way of drawing attention away from the shape. I hope they actually do that.

There are rumours it is actually going to be white. I'm not happy though. I would prefer dark blue and it's important thing to me. :|

Not the worst. Definitely a willy, but a bit more coke-bottle/skittle shaped than some of them.

Fact it is similar to RBR's could bode well...

In all honesty. It doesn't actually look that bad. I love the general shape of the nose above the thin part and the thin part itself isn't that much out of kilter with the rest of the nose. An elegant solution compared to the Force India anyways.

Please be fast, please be fast, please be fast.

Oh and reliable too, thanks.

I'm not asking for much.  Except for the resurgence of this great marque.

Obviously it's impossible for me to tell just from looking but it seems like a very primitive design.  The rear end looks unfinished and the front looks like it's missing some tweaks and curves.  It's awesome, but only because it's a Williams.

Please be fast, please be fast, please be fast.

Some similar concepts in the way the underside of the extension is shaped, but hardly the same. The RBR one is the shortest, stubbiest finger around. Short enough that it's not a finger, really, and the air will behave differently as it passes over/under/around. Williams still has a long, narrow extension on their nose that the RBR doesn't.

I love the way the exhaust and other bits seem more exposed, reminds me of an old school 80's car or something. I think it looks great.

and we've also managed to bring in some new partners. We aren’t in a position to announce them just yet but we are looking forward to doing so in the coming weeks before we head to Australia.
