Do individuals who achieve knighthood receive additional rights over a regular citizen?

If you really want to know more about knighthood you could ask former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who was awarded an honorary knighthood in 2002. Or, if Rudy isn't returning your calls these days, you could try the official website of the British Monarchy: http://www.royal.gov...nighthoods.aspx

I have no intention of ever reaching out to Giuliani.  He is the definition of using tragedy to further his political career.  And the link you provided....  makes me even more confused as to why people are asking about Ron Dennis being knighted.

Inappropriate comment in my opinion but if you want to turn this into a polemic where Conservative Party is a pejorative term what about the Labour Party?

They are the party currently in power, so they have the chance to honour their supporters.  Labour have had their chance (and took it) previously.

We could ask Lord Ashcroft to judge which is the worse.

"Confusion is a gift from God. Those times when you feel most desperate for a solution, sit. Wait. The information will become clear. The confusion is there to guide you. Seek detachment and become the producer of your life. "

but I wouldn't take that website too seriously - especially the bit where it says a knighthood cannot be bought.

I guess what I am trying to get at is, Ron Dennis has already achieved Iconic status as far as F1 is concerned.  What exactly would knighthood do for him?

Dennis is less an icon and more an anti-hero or has-been.  A knighhood would deliver a dose of credibility if he could finagle one.
