HI I'm Paul Page, and tonight on the Autosport Forum, we have the CART PPG Grand Prix of IndyCar Unofficialdom.

What will 2014 bring in the IndyCar series... more stock phrases from me now that I'm back on the radio? A greater lack of global recognition for probably the best racing series in the world right now? Juan Montoya eating Helio for breakfast? Who knows, but I'm sure Derek Daly will have some pointless musings on it later in the show...

Can't have Indycar without a pointless split to divide fans, can we?

Is it wrong that in my head that came out exactly in his voice?

I'm reporting you to the governing body for spamming this unofficial thread with Off-Topic posts

It happened to me as well when writing it.

Straying close to some form of officialdom there Ross, but you're good.

Just found some unofficial proof that Daly pronounced King Hiro's name wrong too... http://www.youtube.c...h?v=ssVXtmjl-Xk

Page's mangling of Villeneuve's name is somewhat reminiscent of what JV did to Hiro's car there too...

Scratch what I said above. The when I read the OP it sounded like that.

I played that a lot.

It's behind the paywall, so here's some UNOFFICIAL quoting of Mario Andretti nay-saying like a pro. What a hero. He thinks the Winter Series is a Duke Nukem Forever of a non-starter of an idea, too.

You know what? I've lived in the business all my life. He comes from tennis, or whatever. Why doesn't he pay attention to some of the things that actually have worked? The facts that we are actually facing?

I raced at the first and second Daytona 24 Hours. Ferrari, Porsche, all the main teams were there. There was nobody around. Today, you have the main NASCAR stars turn up, IndyCar stars... nobody there [in the stands].

You go to Sebring, and it's elbow-to-elbow. Why? No ambience [at Daytona]. There is not a single road-racing circuit inside an oval anywhere on this planet that draws [a crowd]. The Lausitzring: DTM has its smallest crowd there, because nobody wants to go there.

I was just reading that.

So I think Mario raises some good points but at the same time doing the same old stuff hasn't really worked either.

We take the old ideas, throw some stupid twist to it, then wonder why it does not work.

Indycar thread plebs and misfits! Remember those insightful, well-written and most of all powerful posts that used to bring meaning to your pathetic lives by previewing every race thread?

Voting is nothing but nervous craving of the popular will and you might as well not bother, but you can intimidate poor, deluded liberals lining up to exercise their petty, grubbing "right" to vote for their favourite OP here. Currently leading the running for identikit establishment stooges is Andrew Hope, and you can overturn him for a brief carnivalistic thrill to distract you from the drudgery of your daily insect-like existence, not that it'll make any difference in the long run.

Oh, I mean Betty. I thought she was the dumb housewife at first, but you soon realize, she is just a crazy b**** (already on double secret probation, so better not use bad words).

Seeing as our series is now without a title sponsor I felt it necessary to tip a hat to Izod and honor their participation.

All Hail 'participation'

It's not whether you win or lose, it's definitely whether you participate.  I'd certainly like to participate in that redhead...

Not sure whether to laugh or cry. Definitely too much information from Power, but very impressed with Helio's car impressions!
