I found this surfing the net. Its from a very nice site covering the Romanian auto industry dominated by Dacia.

To be fair to Dacia it is now doing very well in Europe and is about the only growth product for its owner Renault.

However in harder, communist times some of their protypes were, well, unusual

If you scroll down the thumbnails you will see my favourites - , the Maxi Break with its 1.4 litre engine to drag it along and the elegant cu 6 roti.

Just to show even Renault  ownership hasnt killed their design flair today we have the Duster Limuzina at the bottom of the page. Any ideas what the side bulge is for?

Three steering wheels?

Surely if two fall off in your hands, there's a good chance that the third will also fall off

I have this "theory" that the three steering wheels are an attempt to optimise the handling of the 6-wheeled Roti 6!

Each wheel steers one axle in order to investigate teh handling limits.

Over to Greg for a dynamics model!!
